LeBron wanted to run the organization.
Wade wanted more money than we can afford
Bosh wants to put his life at risk.
to me the biggest takeaway from the last couple of offseasons is simply this - You can't be a player fan in todays league.
The days of Bird/Magic type of connection with the organization (Celtics/Lakers) are completely dead.
You can support, root and love any player on your team, but unless they showed a particular loyalty/connection/sacrifice to the team, they're mostly thinking about themselves only.
With the way these players get pampered and cuddled, 95% of them have no interest in seeing anything bigger then themselves.
That's why guys like LBJ/Wade/Bosh departed the way the did. They're not bad guys, but their lifestyles and constant pampering got to their heads in various degrees. I can't really blame them. This is how the NBA culture looks nowdays. Look at KD. It's all about the "me" mentality.
In a way we're lucky to be Heat fans, because a big part of the attraction of this team is bigger then the current players that happen to play (or leave) in any given season.
