Anyone else think he might have a breakout year and be a big part of the rotation? He could be a great back up to whiteside when they decide to play small ball

It doesn't matter, this year is gonna be a total disaster

Depends how you define breakout. I think he'll prove to be a serviceable backup, better than Amare was last year.
He's not going to become a star center like Whiteside though that's impossible. I do think he'll be a solid rotation player though.

I wonder if we like him enough to pay him in the offseason. Probably not though.

I like the kid, & wish we had signed him for 3 years so if he did break out we would have his birdrights.
Not that he is anything close to Whiteside but that how we F up on Whiteside.

Will be more fun watching him than Ellington and some others.

I look at Willie Reed and our previous backups, Turioff, birdman, Anthony, Oden, Curry, and probably someone else. he is probably the best potential, and could possibly be better than Birdman

+ Magloire and Dampier .. And I'm sure we're forgetting some. Man, we really deserved Whiteside after the cesspool of bigmen we went through those years.

Can he break out definitely. Will he out depends on coach playing time and the situation's we play him in. We have a history of making them earn it almost to the point of losing the player. He has the skills. Let's not Whiteside and let's Whiteside. Like Whiteside we can play to reeds advantages instead of complaining why he isn't covering the three point shooters. Let's see how it goes.
More importantly we have young athletic players that we don't have to mask on defense that can cover the perimeter themselves.

it all depends on how he wants it and how the spo utilizes him in an effective way off the bench but yeah he could have a nice season for the heat

Reed was wonderful yesterday. Our team hardly missed a beat when the great Hassan was replaced by Reed.
Fun days ahead.
