I think people are frustrated that we're trying to win while we have no real prospects of doing so. Normally when you're making a playoff push, you're looking to add some piece to help push you past the competition, but Pat won't take on a multi-year deal unless it's a star player ... and that market is extremely thin, so we get nothing.

We're basically messing up our chances to add talent/assets through the draft/draft pick to prove that we can get marginal players to play hard every night. And it's guys that we don't even want around next year.

This is so frustrating.

Except we're not stealing a prospect, we're not dumping McBob, we're not acquiring a lousy pick, we're not losing a lot of games, we're not getting a top 6 pick, and we'll have no good options on draft night.
