Re: Winslow
The more i look at Justise playing, the worse he seems. He just isn't really good at any part of the game, and is an atrocious shooter and really bad finisher.
I had really high hopes for this guy coming out the draft, but man he really does have "bust" written all over him. Every game i watch i'm more dissapointed. Last night vs LAC he just kept making silly fouls, and was absoutely a non factor on both offense or defense. Miami basically has to play 4v5 with him on the floor.
I would definetly suggest trading him for a veteran backup PG if i were the GM

If so, what would you be looking for in return?
A bonafide all star or unprotected first would be a good start.
For Winslow?

I'm not sure honestly. I think young players who are disappointing are about the hardest players to use in a straight up trade. The team that drafted them is going to value them at what they can be, where as the team trading for them doesn't wanna give up full value for a player who has disappointed.
What does Miami need?

Boomershadow makes a lot of game threads on the Pacers board, but he doesn't sticky them. Mostly because the board is dead though, I'm sure he'd be willing to sticky them on a more active board.
Boomershadow for Justise Winslow?

The Heat are mostly looking for a super star tbh. I dunno if Pat Riley is looking to move Winslow unless it's part of a blockbuster trade.
I really like Sabonis tho. If you are guys willing to take on Iggie and his baggage, you have a deal in my book.

I understand ya'll looking for a superstar, which is why I offered up Boomer. :-p
On a more serious note, I cannot see the Pacers wanting to trade Sabonis at all. He has been amazing for us.

Yeah, dude has talent. The main position of necessity for the Heat right now is PF. Which is where Spo had Winslow start yesterday. I don't know if that's a long term option for Winslow, he may get torn up playing the position like Battier/Deng were. However, he doesn't have the outside shot to play more SF.
One thing I'm certain of though is that Pat Riley is not looking at this roster as complete. If he liked it, he would not have gone after Hayward before he signed Dion/JJ/Oly. This roster remains a work in progress.

I think the Pacers should be willing to trade Thaddeus Young(I don't think they will, but they should). That way, we can start Sabonis at 4 and use Leaf off the bench.
I'm not sure if Thaddeus is what ya'll would be looking for though given that he is 29. Probably a better option for a team contending. That said, he is pretty good at just about everything and has become a pretty good defender and 3 point shooter in recent years.

Winslow for me? I don't think the salaries match
Sabonis has just been too much of a pleasant surprise this year to give up imo, and if Winslow has been better playing the 4 then I'm not sure he will fit. We need a 3 so much more another 4.

Iggie for a turkey sandwich, final offer. If the meat is a little dry that's ok.
But yeah, I don't think a deal for Winslow is gonna happen with the Pacers.

So he backs that up with 4/6 on 20% shooting
He's not a bust to me, but we still need to see those "putting it together" games more regularly.

Winslow was better than his stats tonight, though. He doesn't make many stupid plays. He's had 2 turnovers since the (bad) Denver game in 106 minutes. That means a lot to a team that can't seem to go two minutes without a turnover.
Really, his problem is that his good games are just okay and his bad games are appalling. He's a young player, though, and will improve. No need to hit the panic button yet. I'd resign him at this point for something like 4/40 and hope he develops. His play isn't making him much money (in NBA terms.)
I remember 11-30 with these guys. ^

JJ and TJ are especially reckless, it has become a problem. I like Winslow at that PF position, I'm not sure he has the bulk to be there long term, but short term it gives him minutes and confidence.

Re: Winslow
It seems like it's very important for him to make a couple of shots (esp. jump shots) early in the game to get into good offensive rhythm (such as most non-volume shooting players).
I can see Winslow becoming a non-stat glue guy/stabilizer type player. I like watching him on a break with the ball. Very dynamic. Just gotta keep working on making shots and finishing plays. Definitely like him as our starting PF than most other options I've seen this season.
