2016-2017 Heat vs 2010-2011 Heat (Best of 7)

With a history of rebound woes on the 2011 team and the 2017 team being a little deeper, can the pull off the upset or would the 2011 team stomp them? Would Whiteside be a problem for Lebron and company?

Considering how much trouble we had with Indiana and Hibbert, I'm suprised you guys are so quick to call this a sweep, But fine.

I think this team could potentially win two games if everything goes right. Whiteside would have to dominate Bosh in the paint. The backcourt of Dragic and Waiters would have to keep up offensively with LeBron and Wade (which is pretty much impossible). A win would be sealed by this team's bench which is considerably deeper. End of the day, talent wins out though.

I love this years HEAT team, but come on. Prime LeBron AND DWade. I'm still salty they [LBJ] choked that ship away.

We didn't play Indiana in 2011 playoffs.

In 2012, the Pacers were 3rd in the East (they had one more win than 2017 heat did...in a lockout season). And then 1st in 2013.

We're tied for 8th.

Sweep.

Can Lebron lockdown Dragic?

This team can give the big 3 problems because of ball movement and 3pt shooting. They have no one to bang with whiteside. The big 3 would have to expend a lot of energy to keep up. This years team can't defend those 3 guys but they only have to worry about those 3 guys.

So I think it really depends on how well they can lockdown Dragic and waiters and still be able to score on offense. 6 game series at least.

this current team at full stregnth would be lucky to make the 3rd round, so i say the 2010 team would sweep the 2017 team, even with lebron choking, wade and bosh would be way to much.

Exactly. We struggled with Indiana when we had a deeper team and Whiteside is miles ahead of Hibbert. We had the second best record in the second half of the season, with Winslow,Bosh and Waiters out.

Those 3 guys outscored opponents multiple times. Wade and LeBron could easily clamp down Dragic and Waiters, lol. LeBron clamped down mvp rose.

Whiteside would get into quick foul trouble trying to stop Wade and LeBron (who's guarding them?!) from waltzing into the lane.

Luke babbitt is the starting 4.

Easy sweep. This is before Wades injuries, would be a murder.

Hibbert was effective because of the nasty perimeter defenders on that squad. All that idiot had to do was jump with his arms up. Without those defenders, he got exposed badly. That Pacers team would bust us up.

Why are you throwing in a non-factor with Bosh? He hasn't touched the bench this season. Winslow wasn't helping much. Waiters was a huge loss, but he played most of the games in the second half. We hit a hot streak this season and that's cool. But it's different in the playoffs. We have zero superstars in the part of a season where it's all about match ups. The ONLY advantage would be Joel Anthony vs Whiteside. At that point, they'd just slide Bosh to the 5 and give Whiteside fits.

Imagine Whiteside either closing slow or going under the wade/Bosh or LeBron/Bosh screens and camp in the lane while Bosh has a wide open 17 footer. That's straight murder.

We "struggled" with Indy because the refs decided to be very loose with their interpretation of Hibbert's verticality in the Indiana home games and they had very good perimeter defense.

This team doesn't present the same issues

yeah I agree. 2011 LeBron locked up pre-injury DRose so...

this is easy sweep. Wade was still superhuman, amazing on both ends in 10-11, would lock up Waiters. The only problem that team would deal with is Whiteside. There is Golden Eagleton though, I remember he'd always kill us back in the day
