A bit of a puzzling move for sure, but this thread will (and probably should) get merged at the very least.

No problem with the signing. A stretch 4/5 who can play center or play with Whiteside and is capable of big games. Also, just as important, is the fact that we're losing McPegleg and keeping JJ.

As long as we keep JJ, I see the vision and could get behind this signing.

If he costs us JJ, I am pissed.

SMH. Don't get this one at all. 4 years? Hopefully I eat my words...but damn.

I was watching when McBandaid scored all five of his Heat points! Took him five games, but he did it.

I dig it. Olynyk is a hard working, hard nosed physical player in the Heat mold. He will fit in nicely and can hit 3's at a decent clip. I really like the signing.

Edit: On a less downer note, I hope he pans out though this wasn't exactly the move I was looking for. Kind of sad a bit as I heard over radio we finally got rid of McRoberts and then this. Sort of brought me down to earth when I finally saw a bit of light this offseason :/.

Young discounted big who can stretch the floor and offers plenty of insurance for when Whiteside gets banged up or in foul trouble. Also going to be great to have on the floor with Bam and Winslow.

First, this isn't the old NBA when you can sign guys for a couple of million. If you're rotation worthy, you're getting paid. Second, unlike McOuchie, Olnyk actually plays.
