Looking at the roster. The team isn't too shabby. The East is very weak. We will be a second round team and can upset someone.

I would've preferred a rebuild. Sell off guys for picks etc. No one is stopping the Warriors now anyways. But to be honest, Miami isn't a city that can get away with sucking too long. Pple stop showing up. Which is why I feel Riley trying to just keep us competitive, afloat. Just wish these weren't such long ass deals.

We are capped out. And if these guys don't play up to their contracts, then this is our team for the next 4 years. Hopefully they surprise me and outplay their contracts and become positive assets. We will see.

I am thinking they are more like the Pistons of the early 2000's. They are slowly acquiring of bunch of players that can complement each other well and developing that talent around a system. Will the Heat win a championship this year? Not likely, but they are positioning themselves to be one All-star and some playoff experience away from being contenders (just like the Pistons were before they got Sheed Wallace).

On a side note, I know many people were on team tank, but teaching a team how to win can also have its benefits. For example, the 76ers have gotten enough lotto picks that they should have a team of All-NBAers. Instead, they still have no clue how to win other than against the Heat sometimes. On the flip side, the Heat had a team that few gave a chance other than some posters on here (Link: viewtopic.php?f=20&t=1464738&start=40 ). Now with just the addition of Olynyk and Bam, they are potentially looking at a home court playoff seed in the East.

Loved watching last year's team grow. Will have an absolute ball watching this squad come together.

This had to happened. We have to make the play offs these next four years or else we are looking at the embarrassment of a NJ Nets situation with our 1st round picks to Phoenix. The Dion deal was perfect. JJ it was expected. He will be what 33 at the end of the contract not really too bad. Olynyk don't love it don't hate it but if they didn't spend that cap space correctly now they'd have lost it next year when TJs contract balloons. So you add another solid player.
