Well deserved. I was impressed to see him being a part of the team meeting with Hayward, although that would mean geting more than $20M less if resigned at all.
He was probably the second most valuable player for the Heat post All Star. Should IMO start this season. I would rather see Olynyk and Winslow to come off the bench than JJ and McGruder.

Fair value. This is the cost of a good rotaion player now days. We needed him and we got him.
4th year has an option?

player option apparently
I think we overpaid, but I am waiting to be proved wrong. I was looking for 4/52 (like Waiters got.) 4/60 isn't too much more, but if we lose Ellington it will suck.

Committing 4 years to a vet will backfire on us, but Miami will be very competitive this year and possibly next year.

he's 30 but with very low mileage, played very small minutes most of his carrer.
Add his team mentality and we should be fine.

Yeah ESPECIALLY the jj deal. Dude is 30. He's not gonna be worth his cap number by the 3rd or 4th year. This could get ugly
JJ’s games/minutes played for his career...
• 474 regular season games at an average of 19.7 minutes per game
• 19 playoff games at an average of 8.3 minutes per game
...he’ll be fine at age 34.
Yep, should be just fine...
...Johnson, who made $17 million his first seven seasons in the league and credited his physical transformation (he shed nearly 40 pounds) for his success last season, said the first big purchase he’s going to make with his new contract is getting gym equipment for his house.
“I’m definitely going to go get a couple treadmills, a couple bikes, just have them at the house,” he said. “Those things changed my career and really changed my life.”...

I read it's a TEAM option, RexBoyWonder. Safer.

well deserved. well earned. good for you guys that you finally got the light bulb to turn on and so you get to keep him.
he is a personal top 5 player to watch. wish he would be aggressive 24/7 though on the court.

There is a player option in the final year of James Johnson's four year, $60 million deal with Miami.

It's shocking how fast JJ became a Miami Guy....
He planted his flag and was unapologeticly loud and proud.
If there is one thing Miami fans eat up it's the Family Culture of the Heat.... JJ is our guy
