Waiters and Dragic handle the ball a lot in the starting unit. If you start JJ, then you've got another guy who can handle, and who isn't a great shooter. Probably would work better to have JRich there to complement the strengths of the others. Off the bench, Winslow could have KO and TJ to toss to.
Winslow doesn't have to handle so much and can work off the ball, there's also a good chance JJ continues to come off the bench which doesn't help Winslow so much. Dion and Dragic can spot-up and are much more natural ballhandlers that can break defenses down and set up Winslow. I'd much rather see him with that group. Probably would be harder to fit him with JJ/TJ than Dion/Dragic. As long as Winslow doesn't tear the starters to the ground (Which he shouldn't/wouldn't) I think it would be better for the team overall
i think there is even less upside handing the starting spot to a guy that doesnt deserve it. instead of forcing him minutes let him play 5-10 off the bench.
He fits better with the starters, it would be more like forcing him unto the bench and hoping he finds his way, which I'd rather avoid
