Dragic + Whiteside + Winslow package will yield you either a Wall or Lillard + bad contract package.

Get a real star on this team and really build from there.

Will suck to let Winslow go he’s showing signs but - gotta pay to play.

It’s a stars league need 1.

I'm fine with that package getting us Lillard, but for Wall that's a hideous over pay, especially if we get a bad contract back as well as Wall supermax.

Hassan plus Dragic plus Winslow is like 50 million or so, right. Would be interesting to see what fillers would be to cover that gap.

I'd still go balls out in the lottery for our next star. I don't think many teams would look at the above package and be willing to give up their most marketable player.

Alright so we get a “star” by trading for Wall/Lilliard, question is what else is around/will be around our star considering we have little to no assets or cap space? The time for whale chasing is over, we have to have a legit rebuild, no more quick fixes.

I'd take back any contract and trade Dragic/Whiteside for a chance at Colin Sexton, got some Heat player in him.

Him or Trae, not picky. Shai Gilgeous or Anfernee Simons would be cool too

Would have to get top ten. Who looks like a trade partner for those players at that price? Only Cleveland if LeBron stays I'd say.

Lillard's a great player but him getting shackled by NO's backcourt has turned me away from my previous thinking that he's a transformative talent, definitely not interested in Evan Turner's contract either. Looking at the length of Boston, Philly, Milwaukee, I'd say our target needs to be a wing scorer not an undersized scoring guard.

New york and Charlotte might be the only team's dumb enough to want to do it but even then that's a reach. Cle's not going to want anything to do with that package

We have to pick a method, either way. I see three clear targeting plans:
1. Stars that are chewing capspace or disgruntled (eg Wall, Etc), and then using them to complete a new contender.
2. Young potential stars that are causing a cap crunch on their team, or not fitting as well next to their superstar (eg Parker, Wiggins).
3. Full rebuild. Keep Bam, Justise & Richardson, but trade everyone else for youth, picks, and bad contracts. Do a Whiteside for Nets pick & TT deal, embrace he inner Hinkie and get young.

I'm honestly not patient enough to start the third - I was two years ago & wanted mid-season trades to ensure we stayed on that 11-30 pace, but not now. I think we have too many useful pieces that it will be hard to completely bottom out.

I also think there may be a push to have one, or two, more good seasons with Wade before he retires. With that in mind I think route 1 is actually the most likely, and keeps most with Riley's historical actions.

I would try to get a Dragic for Wall trade, but keep Whiteside out of it - use some of our depth as bait for making new them deeper. Dragic saves them a tonne of money over the long term, without much drop off, and we shouldn't need to include a huge asset to get it done - definitely not Winslow.

Then we have Whiteside to dangle in a Parker S&T or for Wiggins, or another wing. The trick will be absorbing extra salary.

Those teams should have better offers. If we don't like the players we have, we're not getting top 5 player at their positions for them.

Just gonna have to take some risks and get lucky. We can’t roll this same team out again though, we know what it is. It ain’t good enough.

That's what I was thinking. What do you think about first round picks, lottery picks, and such?

Would you keep the guys we have or gamble for future picks down the road? Would other teams find adding a ready now player worth parting with a first round pick, even if it's a couple years down the road?

I really have no interest in seeing this treadmill continue. It's long past time for us to bottom out and try to find our next foundational piece.

1. Am I the only one feeling that with how we played against Sixers - we would've beaten pretty much any other Eastern team?

2. With that said - it's clear we're lacking a true great 2 way player. We have a great cast with no leading man.

One of our problems is that we have very few really good 2 way players.

Dragic - good offense, not much of a defender
Wade - same
Rich - Great defense, average offense
TJ - average offense, average defense at best
JJ - Very good defense, average offense
Kelly - very good offense, below average defense
Whiteside - Honestly - never felt he was a good team defender. he's a stat getter.
Winslow - Great defense, below average offense
Bam - incomplete.

In a sense we're lacking an identity. We have some good scorers that are bad defenders, and also have some good defenders with questionable offense. We have some post-prime players, and some pre-prime players (almost no players that are in prime now).

Also feel we're lacking outside shooting, which is the most important skill in todays league.

The biggest thing is - you need at least 1 (preferably more) really great player to really win in the playoffs. We don't have that.

I meant it as a "the Heat stay relevant in Wades last couple of seasons", instead of the Kobe tour.

"Play Hassan or trade Hassan, those are the options" - Hassan's agent demand to the front office around the trade deadline. This was shared on the most recent Heatbeat podcast. He's gone for sure this summer
