The way the Heat, Bucks and Wiz playing down the stretch could be ugly for the playoffs

I was curious to see what the quality of players were like that had Bam Adebayo's free throw rate per min as a rookie, there was a short list of I think 34 or so (once you filtered out guys who didn't play significant amounts of games or mins), and most of the names were great/HOF level guys, but there was the occasional Tim Thomas or Derrick Williams type - guys who took a lot of shots as rookies. So I did another search to find guys that had shot as good a free throw attempt rate and same or worse fg attempt rate. There are only 2 guys who have done this - Tyson Chandle and DeAndre Jordan. Jordan was probably at the line for hack-a reasons as was shooting about 38.5%,, Tyson slightly better at 60.5%. Bam does seem to have fairly elite foul drawing ability for a guy that can make ft's (70+%)

With the way we run our offense, I don't know if we'll ever see him use it or develop that skill.

I agree on the Wade trade. The problem is he is treated by his team mates and Spo differently than everyone else. That is not Wade’s fault but there have been times he is in the game because he is Dwayne Wade. His play in several games hasn’t justified him being in to finish the game much less be depended on to carry the team. If several see that, why don’t coaches see that and adjust? I don’t know . Anyone have any ideas if my premise is right?

This hardly a surprise. Hell, I predicted it when the trade went down.

I blame the Vice jerseys. The second the Heat put them on, the poor play began. There’s a reason teams don’t wear pink.

It's a trap. On the one hand Wade is still good shot creator, on the other he provides zero spacing, so you can't pair him with Winslow, Hassan or Bam. But if you're playing him with Ellington and Olynyk your defense is a disaster. Really tough to find right combination of players around him.

Maybe they should play Rodney instead of him and run pinch post DHOs with Olynyk and Ellington all the time. Tough choice

Think they plan to wear them throughout the postseason which may as well just be 4 games :noway:

There will be a random draw to determine whether Phoenix gets the 16th or 17th pick as our first pick payment for Dragic. I was really hoping for one in the 20s, but it was not to be.

To refresh your memory:

MIA out: Danny Granger, 2018 first (top-7 protected 2017) and 2021 1st (unprotected), Norris Cole, Justin Hamilton, Shawne Williams
MIA in: Goran Dragic, Zoran Dragic (later dumped on Orlando for a second-round pick and cash)
NOP in: Norris Cole, Justin Hamilton, Shawne Williams
NOP out: John Salmons
PHO in: Danny Granger, 2017 (became 2018) & 2021 first-round picks described above.
PHO out: Goran Dragic, Zoran Dragic.

Danny Granger was broken. Shawne Williams, Justin Hamilton, and Norris Cole were included to match salaries.

This is our second postseason appearance since the trade, despite the fact we lost Chris Bosh for two years to injury and Dwyane Wade to his homecoming in Chicago and bro-meet with Lebron in Cleveland.

The jury will be out until 2021 when we give the last payment, but this trade kept us relevant. We would have been much, much worse.

nbadraft.net says that 16 will get them Khyri Thomas, and 17 will get them Bishop's favorite, Robert Williams. I can live with that.
