Don't you have to apply for it via HM anyway? So maybe that's why.

No it's usually talked about among mods when they feel like they need more help, and based on that discussion HM will contact a poster or a couple of posters depending on the needs. I think QUIZ, Defensewins, and DoM became mods at the same time.

And Masai just came out and said that he's leaning towards keeping things the same This is what happens when the fans are invested enough to keep selling out the building regardless and pay the highest prices in the league for playoff tickets to watch this team choke every season. Ownership would rather take the 50+ win seasons and a couple of playoffs rounds rather than risk eroding fan interest by committing to a rebuild.

If he was on the Heat we would love him. One of those hate when he's not on your team but love him to death when he is.

I actually think he and Justise are VERY similar. Both are very poor offensively but make winning plays come playoff time. I actually think most people would be shocked if they looked up Smarts stats. 10.6ppg 34% from the field 21% from 3, 46% TS. That's not even a decline due to injury, he's pretty much always shot like that his whole career and yet if you just watched him you'd never know it. His stats make him look like the worst player in the league but he makes so many winning plays on the court that it overshadows that fact.

Smart's 23, Justise is 21. If you check out their playoff stats from when they were both 21 they are again very similar. Justise is a better rebounder but everything else is pretty identical. I think Justise will make some strides and become a more efficient shooter but even if he doesn't I don't think it'll be the end of the world. Plenty of teams would kill for a guy like Smart.
