yeah trading Doc's son (who's also expiring!) in order to give younger guards more PTs is a bold move. I would not underestimate Jerry West or the new GM who's not doc but it's still the Clippers if Lakers get big time FAs then they will probably fail and max out someone like Jeremy Lin lol

NBA reporters are a weird breed though. They mention Spurs and LA re-opening talks...do they REALLY think LA are the only team Spurs are talking to right now? That would be a pretty crappy way to use whatever leverage they have.

If SA aren't talking to 20-25 teams, they aren't doing their job.

Reporters are being utter clickbait and raking it in as much as possible at this point.

but yeah, at the end of the day Spurs and Lakers are both desperate and they don't really have a choice but make a deal with each other. Lakers will probably have to give up a little more than they need to in order to get this done by Friday

Kawhi's a little creepy at this point. I feel like there is no convincing that he'll change his mind and stay (either with the Spurs or non-Laker teams) so Spurs won't get that good of an offer from non-Laker teams. Kawhi could easily say "oh my quad actually doesn't feel too good after all hehe" and sit out another szn. he's got those crazy eyes chalms
