heh I'm surprised too, dont worry I already sent him a check for 2.50

i'm going to use that money for Crunchyroll subscription. maybe AoT will be less painful if I don't have to sit through 5 mins of Crunchyroll show ads per episode which can drive me crazy.

I prefer their ads to regular tv ads, anime ads amuse me with how over-the-top they are

I thought we're only getting $600 for now bish? I'm fine with more stimulus, I wish there were great ways to get em to people who really need the money. 2k check on top of $600 would be wild, but are we just printing money now? aren't we paying for it eventually one way or another? and people who really need help probably can't be helped with a couple of checks. lots of problems

In theory, stimulus should help businesses by getting people spending money again, but yes there is a certain segment of the population that is like thousands of dollars behind in rent from not working (mostly service/entertainment industry, I think). Also I don't know how much small businesses get helped out if people just spend their money at Amazon or other big box stores.

But if you're an essential worker or working from home, finances are probably the same or even better. But I don't know if it's a good idea to means test this kind of thing, and anyways essential workers deserve the extra money for putting up with safety risks everyday.

Yeah I'm all for spending but if I can't really go anywhere stuff I can buy is pretty limited.

I was lucky enough not to suffer financially at all from this covid chit but we're all mentally exhausted. in that sense everyone should be compensated some but idk that helping business aspect is such a roundabout way and I'd not be able to help certain businesses at all no matter how much money I have such as tourism, indoor entertainment (movies, museums, theaters, sports, concerns, etc), cosmetics, and so forth. money isn't the issue it's the safety. random checks for everyone seems like a lazy feel good but not really helpful solution come on chalms

yeah they do help me find another show to watch. it's just that they just repeat the same ads over and over which drives me crazy.

not the end of the world, but I'm willing to spend the money if they are struggling to fill the ad slots.

I don't disagree, and I have no clue what the right course of action is.

Ofc politically it's a good thing, because who doesn't like cheques, like you said.

i don't watch anime with dub. they all sound so weird and kill my mood. such disrespeck and disservice to the originals. hope you realize that you're getting about 30% of the awesomeness of original animations.

It's like me watching dubbed Forrest Gump. In stead of me listening to Tom Hunks talk it's some random Japanese guy named Yamada Takeshi or someone making weird Tom Hunkish sounds and noises. think about that chalms :x

with that said, AoT szn 4 is a snooze fest with subs, so it shouldn't matter. sometimes subs is also good because they force you to look at the screen, which is necessary to sit through AoT szn 4

I do like to watch the important scenes with sub on youtube, just to hear the emotion. But for whole episodes, I usually watch the dub so I don't have to read the whole time

You're good at English though, I wish I could be good enough to understand whoever this guy is without subs

Finished watching Fargo and Queens Gambit recently too. Dope chit; I'd rank Fargo seasons-- 1,4,2,3 respectively

I enjoyed this season of Fargo too. It didn't really happen, though. That was disappointing.

I assumed none of the seasons we're actually true, and the beginning was just to add some humor to so-called true stories

Not true, or heavily altered at least
