Trade Whiteside , that would be best for both sides

i'd like to see the team playing well consistently before start blaming it on a player or two for our horrible start tbh

nah... Whiteside is fine. He would have been very helpful tonight when Kuzma, Ball, and Hart were dunking on us. He couldn't do anything against Lebron though. Nobody can.

I’m not a fan of Hassan. I think he is low energy and lowers morale on the team. With that said, on a lot of teams when a major player gets hurt, other players that have played less minutes throughout the season are temporarily able to play with high intensity.

This can lead to unexpected wins. This period typically lasts a few games until fatigue begins to set in, unless the players on the bench not only bring effort, but solid talent as well. We’ll see whether the heat are better off without Hassan when/if he comes back.

Should also be interesting to see if there is a link between Hassan being out and the coming dec 15 opening of eligibility for new fa’s to be traded.

Addiotion by subtraction.

I'm fairly sure he's toxic in the locker room, and very sure he's not a winning player. He's a stat getter.

He's just a low INT player. You see it everywhere in life, and you can see it with Hassan. He's made it far with what God gave him, but he's not going to be the guy who "gets it". I mean, he's a success at life, but not the gladiator we want him to be.

I don't think Hassan is a bad influence. I don't think he's any kind of influence. I don't think anyone on the team takes their cues from Whiteside. He's the biggest talent on the team, but he's not a leader.

It probably has more to do with a baby being due.

The problem I see is he has to play under the rim or near the paint to be effective and for Winslow & others to be effective they have to have an open lane to drive into. Nobody wants Hassan shooting outside jumpers and he gets frustrated when the offense flows away from him or he is left out in the 4th. He also doesn't bounce off the floor as much as he used to for put backs. However, with him in the game opponents have a harder time getting their shots off at close range. He needs to develop better instincts passing the ball to open shooters, play with energy again and know when to move out of the driving lanes. Also stop playing like a stick you get out muscled a lot get your shots from broken plays.

Is Hassan Whiteside expected to opt out this summer? Has any word been put out there?

Highly doubt it, he would have to really get some signs that he wont lose money by opting out. How much do you think at team like Dallas would pay him this summer?

I could see Dallas being willing to do a one year deal with a team option for a 2nd for about the same money he's making, ~$27M (similar to the DeAndre Jordan situation) if he opted into his current deal.

He could be the unquestioned starter.

They could try to do $2yrs 50M with a partial guarantee for the second year at about $2M or whatever it's take for him to lose nothing.

There's no state income tax in either place so that works.

Maybe Dallas could give an extra million on the partial to encourage him, for his trouble.

If Miami desperately wants him to leave maybe they could swap future second round picks and add in cash considerations to get it done.

If his agent gets that word, then maybe he opts out.
