The Treadmill defined.

Last night's loss against the Lakers where Dwyane Wade again showed why he is still great and yet so frustrating a player to watch (hero ball and uncompetitive and defeatist LeBron submissiveness) was the same result this team has been flirtatiously giving Heat fans since even before the 30-11 run began: Good enough to compete, good enough to play .500 but not good enough to win anything great. Again and again, this middling group of players fill every piece technically needed to get you to the fourth quarter but this team will not get off the treadmill and will not start to win consistently until it finds it's alpha-dog. It's next Wade. It's StarFox, it's Oladipo, it's Donovan Mitchell, It's Luka.
Blame Whiteside, blame whoever is the next man on the treadmill to fall out of favor with the fanbase, the next person to look great one day and the just ok the next. But nothing will change until someone truly great steps in and takes over.

Oh, I thought that was the whole reason you guys said Richardson was untouchable. Isnt he supposed to be the “alpha”

We definitely need an new alpha dog, but I'm confused by the blue part.

Doesn't seem like Wade likes competing against LeBon and kind of expects to lose to him now at the back end of his career, instead preferring to shower him with accolades. I could be wrong.

Sounds like Im **** on Wade but Wade has nothing to prove at this point in his career. Im grasping at straws here. LEBron just consistently likes to one-up Wade.
Wade was better than LeBron until LeBron kind of elevated to a higher plateau that he hasnt fallen off from.

I think Spo is fed up with his own inability to find consistent roles in his lineups. There's a lot of shifting and jiving, everyone getting their 15 secs of fame...but no consistency. It has to be wearing on him.

Teams can't only be at the bottom or fighting for a ship. There will always be years where they are in the middle. Such are the facts of life. Thus, we just have to deal with it, make the best of it and enjoy what we have until some contracts expire or are tradeable. Hence, deal with it.
