We have negative cap space.

We spent more money than the allowed amount and now we have to get under that allowed amount. Basically 100 is the limit but we're at 125, Dragic+Whiteside opting out would be like -50 but since we're +25 over(125) we'd be at 75 giving us 25 in space.

If salary cap projections are accurate at around 110mil and Goran and Whiteside opt out and we waive Anderson I think that will get us to roughly 87mil in committed salary next season so around 20-25mil in capspace. Not factoring in other calculations and rookie signings though.

They are not trading that pick for a one year contract. Throw in J Rich and they may really consider.

I get that. I previously mentioned Hassan was untradable. However, if Charlotte could be swayed by a package deal, then I'd be all in. Has to be draft night. Has to be for the right player. Not throwing Rich away for a number.

Imagine having the 12th and 13th picks on draft night. All the guys we are talking about right now and we could pick any two of them in those spots.

If Goran and Whiteside opt out and leave us with 20 mill cap room, I'd try to trade JJ and Dion to teams that would take on their ~14 mill contracts and give us back up to 24 mill in expirings each (I.e. 28 mill worth of 2 year contracts out, 48 mill of expiring contracts in). There must be teams out there that want to get lower on salary immediately and are happy to have a contract go longer at a less overall amount.

E.g. Evan Turner, Moe Harkless, Meyers Leonard (41.4 mill) for Dion and JJ (28.4 mill).

If those guys opt out then we need to use that glimpse of cap space to get multiple all-stars in the same room and see I we can work a deal. With Nick, Justise and Pat with possibly have an in on Kyrie, and we would just need one more to add to him - either outright, via S&T or trade.

If that doesn’t work, then use the space to rid ourselves of Dion & JJ to maximise next years space - and hope someone signed a 1+1, or opts out.

Riley needs to all-in or all-out this off-season. We’re either landing whales or clearing room for them.

Doubt Whiteside will end up in Charlotte, especially if Kemba walks.

They also can just sign cheaper guys like Rolo, McGee or draft a C.

Dragic to Dal is more realistic, which would improve next year's tank

Even better, we move up from both spots, get the 1st and 2nd picks, take Zion, trade 2 to Atlanta for their lottos, and move back with Boston using that second ATL pick. We'd then be adding Zion, Hunter, Nassir, Bol and PJ to the Heat.

If you are playing over the cap then you do want that one year deal. You can resign him and go over the cap. Whiteside is not a flight risk. He wants to get paid.

Goran not in his way, they can play together. In fact Goran instinct to get in full court is a positive influence on Winslow. He needs to gain that instinct to get in transition. He not gonna make another huge step by just playing half court ball

And fellas 20 mill in caproom doesn't get a whole lot. That is how we ended up with Waiters, Williams, Babbit, and JJ and Wade walked because the heat only had 20 mill.

Likely would be back at signing one year deals until 2020. Unless we are trying to tank again like 2017, might as well keep Dragic and Whiteside.

Goran has improved as a three point shooter so he can play off the ball some. But it’s not ideal and I would rather have a 3/D guy at the position.

I envision this as the team long term:

PG- 3/D Player
SG- Jrich
SF- Winnie (essentially pg on offense)
PF- Athletic stretch 4
C- Bamwonderful

There are some bench guys in the roster that are young and I want to see what we have. DJJ, Duncan Robinson and Maten i want to see develop into serviceable rotation bench players.

Positions are becoming blurred. It's best to say what role? Look at Giannis, is he a SF, PF, PG or Center? Offensively, I want to see Bam handle the ball more. Pull up when teams back off. Spo wants players who are able to switch roles through out the game, to make matchups difficult.

I do want a stronger Big next to Bam, who can be effective boding bigs like Embiid and Mamba. Someone like Bobby Portis or even Trey Lyles. i dont know if Horford still got some good years left. Nice to see an effective Horford next to Bam.

WAIT A SECOND!! Hold up, you guys made it clear that if Whiteside and Dragic opt out this summer we will only have 20 mil in cap sapce...Makes sense no BUT whats the difference if we wait til next summer when their contracts end well still just have 20 mil?? This is ridiculous were not gonna have freakin cap space until 2021. So what's Riley talking about having two max slots in 2020?
