Don't think we've talked about Cousins being an FA we could sign in 1-2 years. Cousins on a cheap deal+Paul George and Beal?

Why would we want to sign Cousins let alone 2 years from now?

A 30 year old (in 2 years) with bad wheels, what can go wrong. We need to just focus on developing our young players and if a true difference maker comes along jump on it, Cousins aint it

Not interested in Cousins. Guy that size having the injuries hes having now isnt coming back from it. At least not enough to make deep playoff runs. Plus two years from now its only going to be worse.
Two years from now we need to be focused on the best players aged 25-27 imo.

Man looking at the Nuggets. They are such a fun team. That what they should be shooting for.

Look at the Clippers and the oft-injured Gallinari. If you can get a healthy Cousins for like 3 years 63 million you should do it.

An 8th seeded Clippers team and Gallinari isnt exactly selling me on this Cousins pitch.

That was my biggest fear about Boogie, getting a second injury due to the over compensation of the achilles, which happens ALOT. It made it even more likely to happen because he was trying to be impressive for the camera and for a new contract. Instead of falling back and taking his time like Rudy Gay

Vet minimum for Cousins to rehab with us? Sure. Anything other then that nope. Torn quad and Achilles are some serious injuries.

I don't really see the point.
We need young talent or elite talent, not temporary rehab projects.

If Hassan opts out it makes sense. You could move Bam to PF. He won't be taking minutes for anyone. Cousins is a great offensive player so that partnership could work. And along the way Bam could learn from him. I'd do a 20 mil 2 year deal with team and player option. If he reinjures himself, he becomes an expiring contract.

Sum good Winslow and DJJ nuggets
Justise Winslow has a goal this offseason.
“I’m going to try this offseason to figure out what position I am,” Winslow said with a grin Friday during the Heat’s season-ending interviews.
Winslow, 23, does know one thing: “I’m most comfortable with the ball in my hands. That’s obvious.”
Winslow proved it this past season while filling in for injured starting point guard Goran Dragic, as he averaged 13.1 points on 43.3 percent shooting from the field and 36 percent shooting from three-point range, 5.6 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 1.1 steals to go with a plus-minus of plus-51 during the 31-game span Dragic was out because of right knee surgery.
But even after shining in an on-ball role, coach Erik Spoelstra said he does not consider the 6-7, 225-pound Winslow a point guard but rather “an all-around basketball player.”
“I think that’s where he’s at his best,” Spoelstra said, pointing to Winslow’s ability to play multiple positions. “His versatility. He’s a basketball player. Justise Winslow at his best is out there impacting all facets of the game. I would prefer not to label him as a specific position. The more versatile he can be, the more places you can plug him in, the more he can maximize himself to help impact winning.”
While Winslow is still searching for clarity on his position, he believes it comes down to three spots — point guard, shooting guard or small forward. If it’s still all three like Spoelstra indicated, Winslow is fine with it but would also “like to continue to grow within that point guard role.”
“The dynamic is different. Golden State has their five. I don’t know what the Bucks have, but it’s working for them. What Houston has works for them. So you have to figure out what works for you. I think for our team, we’re a little different. Our young guys are two-dimensional players that really get after it on both ends. I think kind of a Denver type of approach -- they’re a young team that really stuck with their identity. They play hard on both ends of the floor and they were able to get the No. 2 seed this year in the West.
“That’s kind of the identity that I can see this team taking on. I would love to play faster next year, get out and run a little bit and use our athleticism. I’m just excited. I enjoy playing with these guys. That’s the main part. I’m excited for next year.”
There seemingly remains untapped potential for Jones Jr. because of his athleticism.
“Derrick, I would like to see him – and he will after a summer of work – really look like Scottie Pippen,” coach Erik Spoelstra said. “He has that kind of frame. It’s a matter of just fine-tuning it, and Pat Riley says all the time, world-class shape.”

The pg dynamic is an interesting one. Spo would never bring Josh off the bench, and Dion doesn't have the temperament for it. That would leave Justise as the odd man out if Dragic starts at point. On the other hand, would the team saying they want to commit to Winslow as the starter force Dragic's hand into opting out.

Watching Derrick White play for the Spurs the more I think Spo held Winslow and Bam back. Derrick White has freedom to run plays take shoot. It took Winslow 4 years to get that greenlight from Spo. We are great at developing young talent to be really good role players. I don't understand why its hard for Spo to just acknowledge Winslow is a pg, he needs to spend the summer working on his finishing, free throw shooting and his handles. Not spend the summer trying to figure what position he is, by year 4 he should know. And he does, he's a pg. We don't need to go through next season trying out Winslow as sg, sf or pf, if we do Spo should go.

"Organizationally, I don't think they ever adjusted. Most of the guys, having gone to so many Finals, me being an older player, having played a lot of basketball the last five, six years, organizationally and coaching wise they didn’t adjust.
