Wade: 0% ... retiring
Haslem: 0% ... retiring
McGruder: 100% if we want him ... restricted
Robinson: 100% if we want him
Maten: 100% if we want him

Whiteside: player option ($27,093,019) ... don't think he opts out, but if he does we'll almost certainly let him walk. (~5%)
Dragic: player option ($19,217,900) ... don't think he opts out, but if he does we'll almost certainly let him walk. (~10%)

NYG wrote:2. What are your team needs and the overall short term goals of the team?

Needs: That's easy. We need top level talent. We need a superstar to build around.

Goals: As far as I or anyone else can tell, our short term goals are to keep making the playoffs anyway we can, and hope to get lucky in a trade.

NYG wrote:3. Is there any reason your coach may not be in place next year?

Nope. Not unless he decides to retire.

NYG wrote:4. Who are you willing to trade?

Everyone is available.

With:
- Dwyane Wade finishing his NBA career
- watching injury-prone Goran Dragic struggling to stay healthy
- watching Dion Waiters on a season slump across a whole stat sheet
- trading away your man with a golden arm Wayne Ellington
- trading away Tyler Johnson and getting washed Ryan Anderson back
- and I can go on and on and on...

I think the time has come to do a blockbuster blow-up and to start all over again. I mean, you can still try to squeeze some extra wins out of that team, but honestly, I don't know how much better they can get. The ceiling of that team has been reached. Miami has some pieces that could make an immediate impact on other teams, especially in terms of their bench production.

The time has come to trade expiring contracts and to build a new team around Bam Adebayo & Josh Richardson. Probably you'll need a new head coach as well because I don't see Erik Spoelstra going into a third rebuilding process with the same team. That could take up to 4-5 years to complete it.

It's gonna be a hell of a hot summer for the Miami Heat front office people.
