The Conley deal only makes sense if we're also trading for Anthony Davis (LOL)

They are likely going to lose JV
How about Hassan, JJ, Dion for Conley?
He'd immediately be our best player, and our best player still wouldn't be an all star.

Don’t worry we got point god Justise to save the day
I'm sorry to say but the organization seems to be moving on from Justise at PG. Between the lukewarm positional endorsement or lack there of and outside PG interest. Writing is on the wall they view him more as a SF or utility swiss army player.
And yet Winslow is one of our "core" players. We're so screwed.

If Pat is trading for Conley then I have to believe it’s something like Dragic/Anderson for Conley/filler - giving them expiring deals and someone who will support Ja and be a professional about coming off the bench.
Then Pat makes other deals for other Conley level players. Not sure who and how, but all-up I would expect it to be done moving the expiring contracts, Dion, JJ and the pick. The core of Rich/Justise/Bam is added to, not broken up.
Dragic/Anderson for Conley? He's a borderline All NBA player. You would have to include at least one pick
Conley: 12 seasons ... 0 all star games. 0. Not even as an injury replacement.
If we give up a 1st round pick for him ...
All the treadmilling apologists ... "Look at Kawhi and Giannis! You can draft a a superstar in the middle of the 1st round!" ... and then Pat Riley trades away our pick for another borderline all star type?

Re: 2019 Heat Offseason Thread
FYI: Mike Conley is going to be 32 years old to start the season, and has missed at least 12 games for 5 straight seasons, including 26 games 4 years ago, and 70 games 2 years ago.
He's missed 133 games over the past 5 years. He makes Dragic and 37 year old Wade look like an iron men.

His moobs are gone. Looks like he lost about 30 pounds. Looks like he' serious about sticking around. We saw how deadly he can be when he's in Heat shape.

Conley is not a viable option, in a vacuum. Old Vet with a high cap hit to get maybe more than 10 games.
I hope that Pat and FO take an overhauling view of the team and then proceed towards any and all moves.

Trading for Conley sounds like something Pat would do. He wanted Wall last year before he got hurt. We have to consider this market won’t tolerate a loser team unless you are the Dolphins, so many better options to spend ones time and money in miami.

Re: 2019 Heat Offseason Thread
I like Conley, but I would only be interested in him if we're sending JJ as a part of the package so we can gain more cap space sooner. Not trading our pick for him. Age and injuries are a big concern, but he's better at getting other players set up for better shots and if we can feature JJ in the deal, we'll free up more cap space sooner.
I'm still keeping my eyes on the Irving situation. He's linked to teams with good PG's I wouldn't mind going after or if we can magically create the space, we can pull him.

I think I'd do the Conley deal with no. 13 as the compensation, as long as JJ and Waiters are going back to Memphis. Nothing else makes sense.

But that doesn’t make sense for them. I could see them making a trade for the 13th pick and Whiteside. JJ and Waiters are trash, a negative value.

Did we? Or did we merely see him when he was in shape, and healthy ... and on a hot streak? For whatever reason fans keep allowing a 20 game run blind them to the evidence from his entire career, and even from his time with this team.
Waiters has played 120 games in a Heat uniform. How did the other 100 games look?
When he's not injured, he's fat. And when he's not injured or fat, he's stupid.

I see the Conley interest as having something else being lined up after, maybe Jimmy

Unless Jimmy is willing to play for exception money, we can't afford him.

Why the hell are we giving up a bunch of assets for a 31 year old with 0 all star appearances and no personal achievements?
