In my opinion KZ Okpala has the physique tools to become a very good player. If we see above he has better tools than the other 2 players that were drafted before him.KZ is a first round player and the strong body we have been looking fore since lebron left. He can play the 3 and 4 and guard strong player the usually bully our SF when we play with Josh or even Justice. If he has the same strong work ethic like Giannis or BUtler he can become something special. Sky is the limit for him also he is a young player just 20 years old.

KZ is like the Hachi consolation prize, similar strenght, his jumper looks suspect though, hope he succeed !
Sekou was just the better propect on many levels, this draft was not a dream when I woke this morning, dam it lol

I just can't believe we had Bol Bol and let him go.
Is Riley losing it.
He was an incredible gift to be available to us there.

We never had him. We agreed to use the future pick we got for 44 in the Okpala trade.
Now we could of had him and that’s a different argument. As could 29 other teams that passed on him.

Am I the first to start the KZ 'Alpaca' nickname on this forum?

This guy has an ELITE FT rate, and finishes well inside.
Basically he's very good at getting to the rim on his own. Combined with great size and improving 3 point shot, there's alot to like.

Reckless driver tho, which is what attributed to getting to the line, no telling if he'll get away with that in the league. Don't trust his first step much against 3's, but it might fare well against most 4's.
If he buys in to our drive and kick system, he'd have a draymond-esque offensive package

I think part of the recklessness was playing on a horrid team. His pass rate was horrendous though. I think he will definitely need a full year of development before he's ready to play decent minutes.
I know he's slower, but it will be amazing to watch this kid grow next to DJJ

I'm having an hard time findind a player comp for this cat.
KZ is tall, long, skinny, drives to the rim a lot with a surprisingly polished handle, shots 3's on decent rate and %.
Not a good passer or shot blocker, might be a late bloomer physically.
So basically he looks like a big, raw wing, that can get his own scoring going, defend multiple positions but not bring a huge defensive impact despite his size.
Is he a Kuzma?

Nah, I think he’s going to be a hard one to find a good comp for - that’s part of why he dropped. He’s a more polished version of the “athlete” that was all the rage in the late 90s & early 00s - where you took a kid who could physically do everything but hadn’t learnt the skills of playing basketball properly. It’s been a while since the Heat took one of these guys (was Dorrell Wright the last?).
He seems to have more pieces in place than those kids, and a few instinct that may help him adjust quickly. If he has the work ethic and shows the glimpses then he could actually be a pretty exciting find in the 2nd. Not sure if he’s a 3 or a 4 at this point - if we hope to be able to use him and Herro with Rich and Winslow then he probably has to play the 4.

Would be surprised if either him or DJJ had mins out the gate, if we don't make any transformative trades
Small chance DJJ might outrank Herro for mins right away, but whom knows

Riley apparently really likes this kid. Thats why we gave up so much to move up to get him.
