I know there's not a thread for it but i am stoked our 5 (Oly) and our backup 5 (Leonard) can both hit 3s. Bam, Winslow, DJJ and Okpala will all be mostly playing with 3 point shooting big men. Means they can do their thing. None of them will be total non-shooters but true spacing is important. Justise is starting to look like he could be a knock down guy, but i'd say he and Butler both prefer the ball in their hands.

Draft picks are over rated!

Riley gets criticised for draft picks but let's face it, he gets FAs who are far better than draft picks

Hate giving up first round picks. Absolutely HATE it. But at least we didnt give it to those **** in Dallas.

Good movers overall.

I like that we kept Kelly and DJJ, both are great fits here. That protected pick will likely be in the 20's, so no big deal conidering we got a true star in Jimmy that is not only a very good player but also fits the culture perfectly, and this roster needed that type of alpha.

I hate giving away draft picks, but I am hopeful that it means we intend to compete for the next 4 years. However, it's the lack of draft picks that has landed us in this precarious position in the first place. If we whiff on building around JB via free agency, then we're stuck on the treadmill for another 4 years.

How come teams like the Celtics can build teams AND keep picks?

Because a team like Brooklyn was dumb enough to trade a collection of picks for two veterans who were done. And you see how well it's been managed, right? You see that they couldn't keep Kyrie or Horford, because draft picks and stars don't mesh.

Ainge overplayed his hand and missed out on star players that actually could have helped them win...

Celtics aren’t fond of risk and as a result are not in as good of shape as one may think. Sure, their team has been competitive these past few years, but they have not even been to the finals (note I’m referring to current Celtics team, not the KG, Pierce, Allen squad).

There’s a time to build and a time to have a finished product. The time to have the finished product was after they acquired Kyrie. They needed to acquire win now players like AD, Kahwi, or both (oof!). But they didn’t. Too much risk.

Championships are often won on taking risks and the Celtics are not fond of risk. They never make a trade if there’s uncertainty. Unfortunately for them, this has created a culture that can’t make tough decisions to deliver a finished championship level product.

So yeah, I’m not gonna criticize the Heat for taking a risk on this.

People really underestimate Jimmy. He will easily be a 25 5 5 guy on good efficiency, good defense, one of the clutchest players in the league. Borderline top 10 player.

Now, I don't see how you can get Bradley Beal because half the league will be after him and you lost two assets for Jimmy (JRich and FRP). If I were Miami I would focus on Kevin Love. I bet you could get him for like Olynyk, Waiters, DJJ, maybe take Knight back and send Anderson or Leonard back.

If Kawhi doesn't go to the Lakers - Dragić-Butler-Winslow-Love-Adebayo is a really dangerous team.

Having a star is also going to elevate the games and raise the profiles of Winslow and Bam.

There was a guy on 560 just now saying he gave Buttler a tour of Little Havana back in April when the 76ers were here for Wade's last home game. Said Butler wanted to see how a local lives and hinted that they maybe calling him Biscayne Buckets soon

Hornets and panthers just cause I moved to North Carolina and I want to root for the home team...Knicks, I just always have liked them and will move to New York for a job with my gf this fall or start of next year
