Not sure how Spo will be able to not play Herro less than 25 minutes a night. Wasn't long ago that this forum was debating if he would get in the 15-20 minute range.

A disgruntled Dion on the bench seems like an inevitability.

Well if he can't beat a rookie for minutes then he deserves to be disgruntled on the bench.

that's easy. 99% of rookies are net negative players

So apparently, Tyler Herro is a bucket.

Herro sucks! One good game...y’all chill. A fat Waiters leaking cheezwiz from too many Phillies from his ears is way better than negative wingspan Herro

You're welcome LeBron.

Tyler Herro is a TURD.

Hard not to get hyped from that debut from Herro. Know all games won't go that way but loved how confident he looked.
Didn't see any 2nd guessing from him when he wanted to shoot.

What impressed me the most from herro was his vision and passing, he can handle the ball too. I don't think we ever had a player able to make curryesk step back 3s like this

I can't really say much since I've only watched the highlights but damn, Herro has been styling.

Haven't seen much of Winnie though. How did he play?

Your hyperbolic generalization has got nothing to do with the specific context of Herro's talent and how this team stylistically values his talents.

Little bit of nuance, Tyler Johson, who basically played the same position and is around the same height as Herro, averaged about 19 minutes a night as a rookie on this team, and he's not in the same class talent-wise as Herro. This team values ball handlers who can shoot and play-make.

Shot horribly but overall played well on both ends. PG is his natural position

I have to disagree about PG being Winnie's "natural" position. I've said this before that he's an above-average playmaker for SF or swing position, but not for PG. He lacks the handling skills, first step acceleration and acute PG instincts to be a full-time PG. Watching him lead a fast break gets a little cringy at times.

Cool. Tyler Johnson was 22 and had -4.7 net rtg in his rookie year

What's your point?

My point is this team values that position and that specific sets of skills. Herro is more talented than Johnson is and, in my estimation, will quickly establish that he can out-produce him, thus, Herro will likely get more minutes than Johnson got as a rookie.
