Herro or Beal?

Beneath the surface, rumblings have continued about Mia's infatuation with the idea of trading for Bradley Beal.

Beal, an established veteran scorer who can generate offense at all levels in the half-court, makes a lot of money.

Herro, or as I call him "White Drip!" is a rookie who enters the league as an off the dribble shooter but has raised some eyebrows with his playmaking prowess. He makes very little money.

It seems that Washington may have an infatuation with Herro.

Question is, what do Heat fans think, now that we've seen Herro in the preseason, about the idea of swapping a young, inexpensive, high upside player to acquire an established "star" who makes a lot of money and plays the same position?

Beal easily, if anything Herro looking good is a huge plus. With him playing well we ended up getting an attractive asset from late in the lottery that no one really expected. You make the move for Beal if it's there then in 2021 you go all in on one of Giannis/Kawhi/Lebron, etc.

Beal. You HOPE Herro can avg 26 5 and 6, Beal already does that and is 26 still.

What about the money/cap?

Beal is expensive and Herro is cheap. If Herro can establish himself early as a primary offensive option, wouldn't it make sense to keep and develop him for pennies on the dollar instead of breaking the bank on Beal?

You are gambling that Herro will become who Beal is today. Is Herro a can't miss prospect?
One bird in the hand worth more than two in the bush...

Not saying Herro is will ever be as good as Beal.

I'll ask this, how close to Beal would Herro have to be for you to not support trading him for Beal; keeping in mind their salary disparity?

This is going to go against the grain, but factoring in what you would have to give up..Beal gets you closer to a championship on paper only. Kawhi had a resume before Toronto. Hell even Paul George had a resume from his Indiana days. What the hell has Bradley Beal ever lead his team to?

And fwiw eye in the sky tweeted that the Wizards are not interested unless the package is Bam, Herro, Winslow and picks.

I actually kind of agree. I don't really get the infatuation with Bradley Beal that the Heat fans/press seem to have. Don't get me wrong, he's a good player - All-Star calibre guy - but he's not some Top 10-15 player. I don't think he's as good as Butler, for example.

I get you can make the argument he's 25/26 years old and his game is ascending, but I just don't know if acquiring him is worth the cost. Does he really move the needle that much to push us into championship contention? At the cost of Winslow, Adebayo, Herro and picks?

I'd rather wait and see if we can add him in Free Agency. If we miss out, so be it. We can wait and see if Devin Booker becomes available down the track or something instead. I view them on the same tier.

They can go kick rocks. That's a massive overpay.

Beal will ask for a trade, publicly, soon enough.

I'm kinda iffy about... I mean, I don't know where to place him.

There are some guys who will do it at the biggest stage on their own: Wade, Shaq, Lebron, Kobe etc... Maybe Leonard (not sure because the 1st time he had PoP and Duncan, and the second time everything kinda fell into place because of injuries etc)..
Steph and Durant would've folded it weren't for the insane stacking of their teams.. Saw enough during their individual runs
N Paul George??? Kawhi is in for a rude awakening...

Anyway, the point of all that text is this: There's no clear mover of the needle like early years.. like MJ, LeBron, Dwade, Shaq or Kobe etc.. the game has changed and injuries etc can turn any playoffs unpredictable ala raptors of last year.. Does a great combo of young and veteran 2 way players with length and agility take us all the way???? Can't really say...

Keep Herro. Given that he's a certified shooter, the only question mark right now is his durability. To that, Beal hasn't proven himself exceptionally tough.

Why trade a prospect that has shown this much promise for a veteran who, while undoubtedly talented, hasn't done anything to show he's a difference maker. In this league where a bonafide star can make a difference, the Wizards have been perennially meh.

This is a no-brainer. Butler is an excellent leader for our 2 budding talents in Bam and Ty, and that's not even getting into Winnie and Leonard. Build a lasting core that can carry the franchise for years to come, without stunting our cap space. Herro is perfect because we can groom a possible stud on the cheap. I'm officially out of the Beal business.

you gals & guys are smoking. Beal is not a proven playoff performer that demands that type of trade attention. Plus is cap number is not friendly. We should not bend over backward for that type of player. On the flip side why are so many want to be like the Knicks and give away young talent?
