LaMarcus Aldridge is 34 years old. He's more than a decade older. Trading 23 year Winslow for him is very short sighted. No thanks.

If I'm using Winslow in a package, it's got to be for an in prime contributor, like a Jrue Holiday.

Moving Winslow for LMA would create an additional 13 million in space for us for in 2021. Including cap holds we would likely enter the offseason at a salary of roughly 60 million.

With the projected cap coming in at 125 million that gives us the ability to retain Butler, Bam, Herro, Nunn, Robinson and Okpala, and have an additional 65 million.

A Giannis max would come in at a cool 37 million leaving us an additional 28 million to sign another player. We’d sit 9 million away from another max deal potentially something Giannis and another player could work out.

Simply put if we think we can bring in a star player for that 27 mil figure you probably look to cash in on an intermediate run now with Winslow.

Just rewatched the Jazz game, and man Leonard played very well last night. Defensively he was on point, was in the right position often, contested shots, rebounded and played well offensively. Only if Leonard could do this on a regular bases.

Maybe in Miami's culture/environment, in the long run, he could be more consistent, it's one of the reasons I'd like to see him resigned longterm(at a lower number then he's signed at now), but of course 2021... blah blah blah.

"The game is slowing down for Herro" - Jimmy Butler

Been noticing the same thing lately. It looks like he is figuring out how to play at this level very quickly. Playing at different speeds and showing some patience when creating for himself and others. He looked good defensively against Mitchel in crunch time last night. This kid's offensive game in a couple of years is going to be a hybrid of Steph and Klay in one player. Not as good as Steph dribbling the ball but better than Klay and on D not good as Klay but not as weak as Steph.

I just can't get excited for LMA. He's so slow and old, and can't shoot 3's.

He's everything that we're not.

I don't agree that those guys have maximized their value. Bam and Herro will definitely get better, DJJr with more playing time all season will increase his value, Nunn and Robinson may have reached their plateau but they aren't decreasing in value anytime soon. On top of that JJ, Olynyk and Waiters become expiring contracts next season which would increase the value of any package where we include any of our smaller contract players so for that reason alone its probably better to wait for a deal. Plus we will also have a better idea what guys like Okpala and our 2020 FRP can contribute to our team and who could become more expendable.[/quote]

You are missing the whole idea Dean, you have to maximize JB stardom when you can... I would say bam and hero are the only real comodities... do you want a championship or not?

The Heat said Monday that the organization will reinstate guard Dion Waiters after his six-game suspension ends with the conclusion of Monday night’s game against Utah.

The Heat said Waiters will re-join the team, participate in practice and be with the team on the bench during games.

Check him for the strap upon entering team facilities. He's like one more suspension away from a Gilbert Arenas like incident

If there was a 2017 Re-draft set for next week, you can argue strongly that Bam would be the number 1 at this point. And that's crazy to say.

They're going to play him to put some value to his name. But nothing more. Interesting.

Herro'd likely go top five too.

I was locked in on Hunter and Little last year. Had no time for UK.

Same can't be said for Bam. Watched a decent amount of his games. He was underutilized at UK.

Once again, glad we have resident Wildcat and company making our picks.

To be fair, I'd suspect that most GMs would still prefer Tatum and Mitchell solidly above Bam. Wouldn't surprise though if a consensus formed that Bam has established himself as the clear #3 in his draft class now.

Those two, along with Fox are only players in question. It's not even close with the rest of the pack. And once Bam starts taking and making corner 3's (and that's coming), he'll separate himself from the aforementioned as well.

That's tough, I feel like it's pretty close with all of Fox, Bam, Tatum, Collins, Mitchell

But damn, a good bunch of productive players from a class from just 2 yrs ago. Bam really got it out the mud since last yr

I agree with this man. Aldridge will not get us into the championship alone with jimmy B here. We would need more if that’s the guy Riley wants. We can’t compete against the healthy lakers , bucks or leprechauns etc

I will credit some of the shrewder draftniks on this site. They didn't have Ball rated as highly as the GMs. Fultz was an unfortunate case. He got hurt and it spoiled his value. He's had a resurgence with the Magic though, who were right to give him a 2nd chance.

Here's the stats for those guys up to this point:

https://www.basketball-reference.com/draft/NBA_2017.html

Advanced stats suggest Bam and Jarrett Allen have had the most impact so far.
