It started when he was drafted at 19. Michael Beasley is already 30 years old and we are STILL talking about him for a Heat roster spot.

But if we get rid of Dion, Spo will need someone else for his dog house. We know Beas can fill that role

essentially takes Beas out of the consideration? :-? IIRC he does the bulk of his damage from the perimeter.

in any case if we're lucky enough to trade Dion, it has to be for a player or players who're in the league. :dontknow:

Beas was signed and immediately cut by the Pistons this summer in favor for Big Booty Joe who was MVP of Big 3 league, who was also cut by the Pistons shortly after because they wanted to give mins to young players. :dontknow:

Since guys you are still talking about B-Easy, let me tell you a little story about him

Believe it or not but Beasley was always loved by the Heat organization from the new players to the vets one, it's like the little brother who always make dumbs mistake but since he is part of the family, you have to get his back

Just look at the reaction after Beasley's dunk against the Hawks. Beasley

Image

Look at Whiteside but also check D-Wade, after that dunk Beasley got a tech, boy was talented but was very frustrating as he couldn't handle his emotions

Image

He is just a player who needs a lot of attention and love in order to perform just like a goodboy

Image

but the thing that you don't really know that beasley was trolling a mod one of our current board ! That mod was a fan a player called "the tank" but he got destroyed by Beasley during a game

Image

Since then, Beasley was trolling him when he can BUT not just during his Heat time but also during his Lakers time

Image

He could have been a player like Lou coming from the bench and be a great scorer

Image

but his ego was too much for him !

Time to end of that story :D

I remember back in 08 i was so hyped for the draft we had just achieved an impressive 15-67 record and our reward was coming. I was seeing which player will be best for the heat, and came across B-easy. college dominating at 25/12 , and I thought man this guys got hops, a handle, can rebound, he can shoot.

put him at the three he will body you, put him at the four and he will blow by these slow-footed forwards.

when the bulls picked D.Rose and we picked B-easy like I really thought what Kevin durant is/was that would be him but stronger.

hurts just thinking about it, such potential but all I am left with is nostalgia reminiscing of a time of what could have been.

He was the total package coming out of college. Should’ve been a superstar. I was beyond elated and still stan him to this day.

In some ways he was unfortunate to be in the era of ball that wasn’t suited for his talents. If he was coming out of college now, teams probably would deal better with his on and off court issues. His weaknesses would be forgiven and protected, his strengths magnified. That’s the nature of the beast.

Obviously Beas has to take ownership of the areas he could control for why his career didn’t pan out as planned, though. A lot of it has been on him.

Beasley has made 34million over his “failed” career.
Beasley can at any time go to China for a quick5-10mil more and be Countries best player. I wouldn’t be so quick to call him a career failure. Many of us will work our entire lives and never see close to 1mill. Not bad for a “pot head”

I never said he failed. Financially, he’s set for life and then some.

I said his career didn’t pan out as planned. I don’t think in Mike’s dreams he thought about how cool it would be to play ball for Guangdong. He expected to be a star in the NBA. He wasn’t.

He's not a failure no one said he is but
He didn't meet expectations of fans and himself. This is a guy who thinks hes every bit as talented as KD and had potential to be but didn't come close to that.

He didn’t “think” he is as talented, he was more talented. KD is on record that Beasley was far away a better player than him during highschool and college. KD kept working at his game and got much better and Beasley thought he could get by on his talent. Which he could, he got by, made his money. But he could’ve been so much more, he knows it.

Beasley is, without a doubt, one of the biggest busts in NBA history. In retrospect, Pat was right to be concerned about him before the draft.
