Tre Jones, Ramsey and Dotson are immediate "NOs", their ability to shoot is highly questionable. Malachi>Pritchard. I think Terry is the best of the group and Riller and Winston are really good. If Terry is gone I think the Heat should go Winston if they want a guard. He could immediately replace Dragic.

Good chance he will be there around the early 20s. I like his potential to be a stretch-four. Good fit next to Bam.

Ramsey was one of the best shooters in college basketball last year. I know his release is funky, but he scores at a very high clip. You can question other things about his game, but not really that

His FT% was only 64% and he's not good around the rim.

nbadraft.net has us taking RJ Hampton. That would be incredibly interesting to see happen. I've not followed him much over the course of the year, but prior to that, I really liked his potential. If he turned out being the best player in the class, I wouldn't be surprised. Don't think he falls to the 20s though.

The more I think about it, the more I think we keep this pick.

Our cap sheet is going to be stretched big time in 2021 once we max somebody, pay Bam and pay DRob. We're gonna need all the cheap labor we can get. Outside of hitting on a 2nd rounder, there isn't much cheaper labor than a late 1st.

If you hit on that pick, you get high production for minimal cost under team control for multiple seasons. Gotta do it.

RJ Hampton is an interesting one. He didn't light it up in the NBL, but showed some flashes. I'm sure his game improved as a result of having to play against reasonable international competition though.

There's a little bit of the Dante Exum's about him, but he has enough raw talent to be worth a punt.

I wonder. Miami could be chomping at the bit. Oladipo a year sooner establishes a more solid plan. We do like our G Leaguers. We might opt for more of those and ship that pick to expedite Victor's arrival.

I do agree with the need for cheap roster enhancements. I also don't believe you are going to fare as well by mining the G League, when there are some substantial prospects likely to fall into our range this year. I'd like to see us draft a big in the 1st and buy into the 2nd for a lead guard.

I could understand the early crow and trying to nab Dipo. He's under contract for (I think) $21m next season and hits UFA in 2021. The issue becomes the contract he would command in Free Agency, but I guess it depends on how he plays next year that ultimately defines his value. He doesn't have enough runs on the board to command max money.

Wonder if we would opt to go small next season and run with:

Oladipo
Herro
Robinson
Butler
Adebayo

I'm already getting antsy thinking about all the offensive rebounds teams would nab, but it's a pretty solid 5.

I'd like to circumvent all this, and just get AD myself, lol.

I do not like how we've been getting abused down low. We really have to invest in a big, with size (length). We're very good at almost everything else, but other teams have really started to abuse our obvious weakness down low. I don't want us to go another offseason without some sort of stopgap, or investment in the future, specifically concerning a big.

Spoiler:
My master plan:

AD
Bam
Butler
Robinson
Herro

Jalen Smith
KZ
DJJ
Devin Dotson

Fit Oladipo in there somewhere, maybe.

If the Heat draft a big man it'll be a big man that has range from 3 like McDaniels or Smith.

Real talk... It will be interesting to see how accurate the draftniks and how the draft actually pan out are. True information leaks during the combine (scouts and agents). Without a combine, leak information gonna be very very exclusive.

Vassell is a nice player. Every time I watch him I think some team is going to be real happy they lucked into selecting him.

Nice to see some big men on the list. Carey or Oturu would be welcome.

Robert Woodard II, nice looking prospect. Very good physical talent, highly skilled in some areas and very raw in others, the same with IQ. Appears to be a hardworker that may be a willing learner. I would be interested. Needs to time to develop however, he can contribute early as a specialist 3D player.

We're not drafting him at 20, he's just not an impressive enough prospect.

Assuming Aaron Nesmith is off the board - this is how my short list currently looks from 20

1. Saddiq Bey - Tough, physical, and without knowing what next season is going to look like I want a guy who will translate well to the NBA game. Reminds me a lot of a physical guy like Dillon Brooks or even Jae Crowder and I think with the shooters that we have and looking at stars we will need a physical guy like Bey.

2. Kira Lewis - If we are losing Goran, we will need another PG to go in a dynamic with Nunn. Kira is LIGHTNING - think a slightly lesser Ja. If Riley/Spo think Nunn reminds them of Norris Cole, wait till they sit and watch this kid.

3. Vernon Carey - Hometown hero, and fills a real need of a big behind Bam. Shoots better than people think, and would do great things under Heat culture.

4. Daniel Oturo - Him and Vern are really 3A and B for me. I love his game, but bringing the hometown kid back and the fact that Vern was such a high prospect coming out of HS a year ago makes the conversation difficult. Oturo has a nice touch on his shot, and almost plays like the rich mans version of Jalen Smith (who just missed this list). I could see Oturo actually developing into having the ability to play alongside Bam.

I dont see Carey as a Spo type of player. I like him, but do not see Spo liking him.
