You can put them on the Simmons, Siakam, Giannis, Brons, George's and Leonard's of the world. They have everything we would look for into a player that would help in the playoffs. You seen how Clips played JJ. JJ will not be used much as a point on this team. He will be looked to play more off the ball. Morris bros excel off the ball. They can knock down spot up shots.

The issue is that the trade makes no sense for them. Its easier to just let a contract expire than take a bad deal unless we throw a real asset.

Well I can not predict what opposing teams want. They could very well look at JJ and Waiters as players they can use. If they feel they can utilize them then they are assets. The only reason JJ and Waiters contracts deemed bad or good, is if you are utilizing them or not.

From my perspective, Waiters and JJ were important to the Heat because of Hassan Whiteside. A big that needs ball handlers to create oppurtunities for him. If the Pistons decide to hang on to Drummond, Waiters becomes a very good fit for that roster. With Griffin health and future a concern, JJ fills in a role for at least another year at PF. So the Pistons could see Waiters as a real talent that they would only have to look at for a year incase things dont work out.

Also, you have to considered who the teams are when you evaluating if free agency money is good or bad. Teams like Cleveland, Detroit and Charlotte, free agency is not good to them. They usually have to give out bad contracts to get someone to sign. These type of teams have utilize trades to remodel the roster. Waiters and JJ contract is only a one year deal for them.

If everything goes well, going into next season the Pistons look a little better

PG: Rose
SG: Waiters - Kennard
SF: Doumbouya
PF: Griffin - Johnson
Ce: Drummond

We all saw how Bam made a leap this year, who is to say he wont improve even more?
Nunn and Herro have looked great as rookies with the potential to get even better.
Robinson is still young and new to regular minutes
Winslow although injured showed flashes of his potential last year and if healthy maybe he can finally be that 2way player we all believe he can be.
DJJR is looking better by the game
Silva and KZ are projects
And although he is up there in age JJ is showing he can be a good piece again after recovering from Hernia surgery.

Plenty of room for growth.

Don't give this guy the attention. He's parroted this nonsensical line before and gotten checked for it.

4 of our key rotation players are literally getting their first major minutes in the NBA this season and are all in their early 20s. To think that any of Bam, Herro, Nunn, or Robinson are experiencing the best they can do in the NBA right now is bordering on idiotic.

Meet possible future Heat player, Saddiq Bey. Replacement for Jones Jr. after he leaves this offseason.

To me last night was a great example, this a college team with great chemistry and come playoff time they would falter... I want to be excited so I would hope I am wrong about our real future, riley and Company somehow turn it around from last year's disastrous seasons keep it up and get some professionals, now pat has the chance to be number one again

I was looking to see if any site had team numbers by quarter to see how truly bad 3rd quarter is:

Team scoring
- 1st quarter we have the 4th most ppg (29.6)
- 2nd quarter we have the 7th most ppg (28.6)
- 3rd quarter we have the 26th most ppg (26.1)
- 4th quarter we have the 28th most ppg (25.6)

Opponent scoring
- 1st quarter we allow the 3rd least ppg (25.8)
- 2nd quarter we allow the 17th least ppg (28.2)
- 3rd quarter we allow the 11th least ppg (26.8)
- 4th quarter we allow the 13th least ppg (26.7)

Year 2021-22
Jimmy Butler----------------$36,016,200
Edrice Adebayo-----Hold: $12,788,730
Tyler Herro--------------------$4,004,280
Kendrick Nunn--------Hold: $2,122,822
Duncan Robinson-----Hold: $2,122,822
KZ Okpala-------------- Hold: $3,386,980

Total---------------------------$60,441,834

The NBA has informed teams of currently projected salary cap and tax level in 2021-22 ($125M/$151M)

For the 2021-22 season, the Miami Heat will have $64,558,166 available to sign free agents. We could add two star players instead of just one and still, we can exceed the salary cap to sign Adebayo and the rest of the players on this list.

So draft Zeke Nnaji, and split the free agency money between Giannis and Kawhi?

Memphis trade -
Jonas Valancunius
Jae Crowder

Miami trade -
Meyers Leonard
Justise Winslow

This trade just makes way too much sense for Miami. I like Winslow but if he can return us something like this we'd be crazy not to look at it. Val is the size we lack inside, he's an inside/outside scorer at 41% from deep, he can rebound and he's a presence around the rim on defense. Jae Crowder is a fantastic 3 & D guy that has been able to lock up the elite players around the league, he seems like a Miami guy. Val is only 3 mil more expensive than Winslow so he doesn't eat much into our future cap.

Memphis do this if they like the potential of Winslow, we could probably add sweeteners if it isn't enough. Otherwise I think this trade makes us a real contender in the East.

KZ showing a very interesting skillset the last couple of games.

like a longer prime JJ, possibly with better 3 point shot.

Very intriguing.
