Our 2012 2nd round pick, traded to Cleveland for Lebron James:

July 10, 2010: Traded by the Miami Heat (as a future 2012 2nd round draft pick) with a 2011 2nd round draft pick (Milan Mačvan was later selected), a 2013 1st round draft pick (Nemanja Nedović was later selected) and a 2016 1st round draft pick (Timothé Luwawu-Cabarrot was later selected) to the Cleveland Cavaliers for LeBron James. Cleveland also received a trade exception from Miami. Cleveland had the option to swap 1st round draft picks with Miami in 2012 but did not do so.

Welcome Jae Crowder, I think he is likely a piece that will be here for at least 3 years. He certianly can play most of the role the Heat wanted Winslow to play outside of point guard. Jae is 29 years old which is at the prime of his career. He can get himself in better shape and be a better player than he was in Memphis.

I like this pickup. He's not a world beater or anything, and he's definitely having a down year shooting wise, but he'll be a solid role player for us off the bench. He's a very good defender and he can really fit in here if he buys into the culture. I like that the three guys we acquired are gritty, no-nonsense types. It should make for an easier transition, chemistry-wise...

A solid replacement for JJ without the baggage(with Miami) which means, he may end up being utilized much more which will help Miami's rotation. The fact that he and Butler have a connection and seem to bring out more from Butler(he's mentioned in the past certain players make him give more effort, which ended up being Crowder) may actually push Butler to be better/more assertive, basically another incentive for Butler.

Adding an "average" player may not seem like much, but when you replace a vastly negative player with someone around average, you're making a big upgrade. The more non negative players you can put on the floor the better your chances are at winning, especially on the road.

I think you'll enjoy having Crowder. He'll give you solid minutes when on the court and a portion of his down shooting is because of the green light he was given and poor bailout shots he took.
