OP claims that Giannis is the most boring player since Shaq.

I don't know if I'd go that far, but I fully support OP to come through here

I keep going back and forth on defensive strategy but I think you've kinda nailed it here regarding limiting Middleton. He's the x-factor and we have such a luxury in that we can stick Bam on Giannis 1on1, I don't think we necessarily have to build a wall like Toronto did last year. Bam on Giannis, Yimmy on Khris, stay home on their shooters, leave it up to our shooters to perform on the other end...

Guys like DRob, Bae, Dragon, Herro and their ability to hit open looks will likely decide this series for us

Figured we'd carry this convo on over here. Bam has that Giannis agility matched up well. He can stay with him one on one. It's going to be a tough guard though. Got to keep fouls down because Giannis gets calls when he shouldn't and he flops a bit.

Middleton can kill you if you let him. If he doesn't go off, they are a bunch of lesser talents who will have to play big to win. We HAVE to hit our threes. This needs to be a coming out party, where we just barrage them from three. They can't handle it. Their defensive strategy is to seal the paint and let Giannis cover everybody's mistakes down low. Now that we've relegated our offensive killer (Nunn) to bench work, we have Herro to add to Duncan. Could be real good.

NGL I haven't watched a bucks game outside of a few times we played against them this szn.

I do know that they defend the rim very well and make you take jump shots. If we can hit outside shots like we're capable of doing we should be able to take control of this series imo

Can't have guys freeze up and go cold. Olynyk, for example. If he could stay hot for a series, it'd be a wrap. Duncan is so consistent. I feel good about him. Herro has that swagger that I love, and he isn't afraid of the moment. I feel like Jae hasn't had a down game since he got here. He's been fire from three. Playoff Jimmy has a three ball in his pocket now. I like our chances, Iggie.

I like Heat 4-2 in this series. We will see. The only way I feel Heat lose this series is if the Heat rookie shooters like Herro and Robinson freeze up and/or Bam can’t deal with Giannis pretty much on his own. Unless both of those happen in the same series I don’t see Heat losing. I haven’t been impressed with the Bucks vs the weak and on top of that 8th seed Magic coming into the bubble who lost 2 of their best players in Gordon and Isaac in the bubble seeding games. Vets like Jimmy and Dragic will carry a scoring load handling the ball and off the dribble but Miami relies an awful lot on unproven rookies or in the case of Bam 1st year starting young player so you will have to keep an eye on them in the 2nd round and ECF (if they move on) as the stages keeps getting bigger.

Is it a good idea to start one round before the previous one is finished(yes sometimes there were game 1's and 7's on the same day back in the old normal)?

Under the old normal this game wouldn't start for a week/week-and-a-half(because of TV scheduling) . The 3 still active series' out west haven't even played their game 6's yet. I guess in the bubble they're starting series' ASAP instead of waiting for the previous round to finish. But theoretically 1 team could sweep to the finals and sit around for 3 or 4 weeks while the other goes 6 or 7 games in each of the first 3 rounds. In this scenario the sweeping team could get extra rusty(more rusty than during the usual 2 week layoff) waiting around, not to mention idle hands becoming the devil's playthings. It's highly unlikely this scenario will occur exactly as I described, but it probably will still more-or-less happen.

I'm not complaining and am happy to not have to wait 1.5 weeks for this game and don't expect the Heat to be waiting around for weeks for their next opponent to finish their series later in the playoffs. I'm just wondering if anybody else is thinking about this or it's just me.

Wow I didn't realize that 2nd round is starting tomorrow (today). But yeah teams like Raptors, Celtics, and us have been waiting for a long time and also they are in a bubble, every day goes by seems to add stress on players so it makes sense to try to expedite the process if they can. NBA needs to adjust schedule later anyways but that's pretty easy with no travel time for teams..
