There is no "extra" 30 million....Bam will make his ~5 mil dollars this season with or without the extension.

Yeah, those tweets sound like he’s repeating the team’s talking points about this so fans don’t get disappointed.

My feeling is Bam/his agent weren’t down with waiting for Giannis. That makes sense but completely contradicts what we did earlier in free agency and definitely has us on the back foot now.

People are seriously questioning this extension? Lol... this isnt the nba trade machine or nba2k.. this is real life.. players want to be taken care of, they dont want to go into a season with their future on their mind and play it safe on the court so that they dont end up like Dak Prescott and end up with zero.

This extensions gives Bam peace of mind, he can now take care of his mother and he can go out on the court and give it his all without worrying about losing money. Congrats to Bam, he deserves it.

Yes, security is key.

Brandon Ingram just signed a max extension with the Pelicans.. if he can get that deal then bam is even more deserving

Waiting for Giannis is a serious risk to Bam. it all makes too much sense to the team and fans, but it's Bam who's got everything to lose

To win and win big. Bringing Giannis onboard might of been the start of a dynasty.

Then again, if I were in Bam's shoes, I'd likely do the same thing and want my money now.

If he improves his game, if he becomes an automatic finisher at the rim ala Giannis, develops a series of go-to offensive moves, and is able to provide high-end production when matched against other elite big men, then the deal is entirely worth it.
