Hmm digging deeper into DMC's #s this season, he may be more serviceable than I originally thought

When playing 20-29 mins: 13 ppg and 10 rpg on 56% TS, +5 net rating

Not bad at all, especially considering he's been playing in that shambling Rockets system which called for him to chuck more 3s than he should (although who knows what Spo would ask of him lol)

Cousins's issue is not offense. It's defense, including lateral movement, speed, jumping, challenging shots, strength in the paint, interior defense, and rim protection. Only this though. And, his 3-point shot (never good) now is kind of flat-footed. Otherwise, he's a keeper. Passes the ball well, shoots well from the elbow.

Most advanced metrics suggest the opposite. His defensive #s are solid while his offensive #s are ugly, likely due to him shooting way too many 3s

pat riley has to get boogie because if the lakers gets him he would be a mini davis for them and you know that team is crap without unibrow since cabron cant handle the double teams by himself and the rest of the cast are just fillers

Did the last 2 teams give it away? I don't even know if that account is all that reliable but it seemed to make the point that there's a lot of teams out there that wouldn't mind adding Cousins for very little salary after showing where he's currently at with his game and health.

Cousins is currently putting up...
9.6 pts, 7.6 reb, 2.4 asts in 20.2 minutes a night. Solid bench guy, could be a good backup for Bam, just have him run the same role as Bam.

We’re 4 games behind the Bucks in the loss column for third seed. 3 games behind the pacers in the loss column for 4th seed and 2 games behind for the 5th.

Let’s get it.

We’d be tied for 5th seed right now without those two blown games smh

Dru Smith very lucky he got that 500k this year. He should invest and manage a subway after all this-MettaWorldPanda

I stopped short of reading the full list, tbh.

I used to follow that account but their intel seemed more like spitballing that never really came to fruition.

The general point is taken though that Cousins will have multiple suitors.

Regarding his fit with Mia, I think it would be mutually beneficial. His half court scoring and IQ would be a welcomed addition and Mia could offer him a big minute role in their power rotation.

He'll probably end up with the Lakers anyway, but I'll stand by my statement.

Opponent Shooting: (all starting centers. Cousins is almost last)

Opponent Shooting: (Heat centers for comparison)

Image

Opponent Shooting: (Cousins)

Image

Box Outs (Heat centers for comparison)

Image

Box Outs (Cousins mediocre numbers)

Image

Screen Assists (to show Bam, no Cousins because it only lists top players in hustle stats)

Image

Box Outs (another hustle stat. I see Bam. No Cousins)

Image

Field goal differential: (opposing team % minus opposing team vs the player - reveals weak spots)

Image

Cousins one of the worst.

Show me your numbers then.

We don’t have a Lebron to keep a guy like Cousins in check. We have a Jimmy that has been known to bump heads everywhere he’s been. So I’m gonna go with no on this whole Cousins idea. And Cousins wouldn’t really listen to a guy like Jimmy, Jimmy hasn’t done enough in the league to talk to vets in anyway. The reason Jimmy has fit in so well here is cuz all our main guys were basically rookies, and the vet Dragic isn’t a confrontational player. Cousins was a superstar at one point, and he’s not gonna take much of Jimmys “alpha” role. Could be wrong but I rather not try n find out.

And Besides all that wall of text, he’s simply put not good enough anymore. His offense has fallen off a cliff, he’s resorting to just attempting 3ball. His defense is a joke. And to be honest I can’t stand his constant complaining, hate that type of player, same as Green.

Not sure in which universe Cousins was a superstar but we agree that the defense is not great.

A lot of heat fans were fooled by the big raw numbers in his Kings days.

Truth is he was never a winning player even in his prime.

If he had a different name and we would show Heat fans his stats from last couple of seasons - nobody would even think to take him on.

If Jimmy can force Cousins to ride around to country music then Boogie might in fact be a willing subordinate.

He is not the same player that he was. And I agree he is not a winning player but he is a big body he can space the floor and grab some rebounds. I'll take him for cheap he couldn't hurt. He needs to by in a system that will push him and I think the Heat can do it.

An interesting stat for 2020-2021 season.
3P% - .368, which is .010 higher then last year.
3PA per game - 34.9 which is up .8 from last year.

Ten years ago...
2010-2011
3P% - .358 (same as last year.
3PA per game - 18.6, 16.3 less then currently.

Miami currently has only 2 rotation players (Robinson, Nunn) shooting over the 3pt% league average.

one aspect I really like about Nunn. His instincts to get out in transition. He can even get better. He leads the team in fastbreak points.

Kendrick Nunn defense has notibly improved in the passing lanes. It was noticible during the Lakers game in the second half the Lakers were aware of Nunn as a threat to get steals. Nunn is tied for 2ND in steals on the team.
