Miami never really had enough without including Bam to get Harden, their only hope was for nobody else to offer much and for Harden to continue to force his way out.

I just can't see how Miami wouldn't move everything it could(if they didn't) to team up Butler, Bam, and Harden for 2 straight years at the minimum. You'd at least have Dragic and Bradley with them for one of those years.

Is it just me or are the guys being 'too' unselfish out there? If you have a good look, just take the shot. Herro passed up some open ones, Bam passed up some open ones, Jimmy always does, and even Iggy did as well.

Keep it simple. We don't need a fancy play every possession. I get the whole idea of ball movement, but the whole point of moving the ball is to get open shots.. so if you have one then SHOOT it.

Alright I'm going to bed.

They catch up, then go ICE cold, fall too far behind & lose. Got killed on the boards. When do the playoffs start?

Payton Pritchard. Smh.

Are we sure this isn’t an Iggie GT? Some Garrison Matthews type chit.

The almost comeback was pretty cool

What were the reasons eddie?

It looks like your season prediction was the best of them all if things don't pick up.

Disappointing, but a game that was going to be a tough one.

This team needs to find itself again. And I agree with the posters that think our guys need to be a tad more selfish on shots.

Saw a stat on the athletic prior to this week that our team was #1 in turnovers*. Also, we need Herro/Duncan to shoot, along with Bam.

*league-leading 19.5 turnovers per 100 possessions.

Some interesting numbers from the game.

Name +/-, ORTG-DRTG
Negative players
Herro +2, -46 <- his ORTG was 70, should have scored more with him on the court.
Dragic -8, -35
Bradley -3, -60 <- 23 minutes, 0 points, 4 assists, 0-4 from the field.

Positive players
Bam -9, +15 <- although negative boxscore he he was one of the better players on the court.
Robinson +12, +18
Olynyk +2, +18
Precious +7, +7 <- Only 14 minutes.
Iggy -21, +35, Terrible in the boxscore but overall did very well, 9 points on 5 shots, 0 TO, 1 ast
Butler +8, +3 <- 26 pts on 19 FGA, a pretty meh game for a max guy with 1 TO and 0 stls so he didn't create extra possessions for the team which is something people don't think much about.

Herro is a shooter who is now shooting less in season 2 and trying to force him into that starting lineup as a more. Not liking the pushing Herro into a more complete player when that can happen naturally for him while continuing to be a scorer.

Although this team is built to be a better playoff team then regular season, this team needs easier point production in the regular season vs pushing Butler to work hard for his points(it's just his style which works better in the playoffs) and be fresher for the playoffs.

Early combos with Precious, he is a positive per 100 with Butler, Iggy, Robinson, Dragic, Harkless, KZ, and Herro. A negative with Bradley, Olynyk and Nunn. Not sure he's been on the court with Bam but they basically play the same position/role so that won't happen much because of the spacing issues.

We’re a team built for the playoffs, not the regular season. Spo has never in his life coached a team that played consistently in the regular season outside of one lone season where we won 66 games.

Herro will be fine, he’s 20 years old learning to play winning basketball in a new role ffs. Already has more potential as a PG than Winslow ever did lol

So how big of a hole will we dig ourselves into in the regular season? We won't have the luxury of neutral courts this playoffs. Remember our home-road splits last season? Worth worrying.

Nothing infuriated me more than seeing how passive Bam was on offense with ham head Grant Williams on him. Just because the guy is thick and has decent feet, Bam gives up on the idea of scoring despite having the length and explosive athleticism advantage on him. He needs to mentally assess his advantages and realize how he can score on that mold.

Couldn’t tell yah.

Look at this way: outside of a 29-11 start to the season, we have been a .500 team since February of 2020 (playoffs included), and a sub .500 team over that stretch if you discount the playoffs.

I remember during our hot start last year people were predicting we could win 60 games.. or even 55. I think some still have that same expectation.

We’re a 44-50 win team over a regular 82 game season. Starting 3-4 doesn’t change that.

Herro needs to be encouraged to look to score. 8 shots in 34 mins is unacceptable

I would say we tend to play a bit too passive on offense and over-pass.

Dragic, Kelly and Duncan are looking for their shots, as they should.

Herro, Jimmy and Bam need to be more selfish.

I remember some Celtic fans (during our series last year) saying that Williams has had Bam's number from their college days. I agree, it has to be mental at this point since it's definitely not physical.

Celtics fans want to claim every and anyone they have in their big rotation is the Bam stopper. They screamed from the mountains that Bam didn't have an advantage in the ECF series because they had Theis and Williams that can stick with Bam. Bam went on to dominate that series.

It's gotta be mental and him just not prioritizing attacking. I'm prob just overreacting
