39 points with 33 attempts playing 44 minutes against one of the worst defensive teams in the NBA right now. So far, Achiuwa has the higher on court impact.
lmao stop bro.
Achiuwa doesn't have a glimpse of an offensive arsenal and is a very weak help defender. Outside of the catch and lob, there is literally nothing else Precious brings to the table.
I don't see another coming of Bam with Achiuwa tbh. Bam had a much higher BBIQ despite coming in a year younger. Maybe the fact that Precious only started playing basketball 6 years ago has something to do with it and he'll improve - or maybe he won't - I don't know and it remains to be seen.
But to dismiss Maxey's performance like that just doesn't make sense.. it doesn't matter how you spin it, scoring 39 points on above 45% fg shooting for a guard against an NBA team in the regular season (not preseason, not g-league) is very impressive, especially for a rookie player. It's not like Achiuwa has us standing high like we're one of the best teams in the NBA .. we're 3-4 lol. He plays very limited minutes and has a very small role.. for a player like that the impact should be high.
Achiuwa is a big man. He doesn't need an offensive arsenal to dominate offensively and he's played less than 10 NBA games so expecting elite help defense from him is ridiculous. Outside of being a lob threat, Achiuwa is also a superb offensive rebounder and he plays good defense. He doesn't need to be Bam to be a good player.
So if he scored 39 points on 40 shots it wouldn't have mattered ? Would he have scored 39 against the Raptors? Before this game, Maxey's TS% was 50.5% and you're calling him a steal after just one good game?
Not calling nobody a steal lol. I'm saying it's ridiculous to dismiss such a great performance by another player because "Achiuwa has more impact".
Maxey has shown more flashes than Achiuwa and it's 110% okay to admit it. It's not going to make you any less of a Heat fan and it's not going to suggest that he's the steal of the draft.
