Not gonna happen

Is Solomon still looking like the homeless caddy from Happy Gilmore? Or has he cleaned up his act, post bubble?

As you probably saw, my guy did an extreme makeover with his beard, he looks too cute.

Needs to let it grow again.

Btw I didn't get the chance to watch the game but we on a 6 game winning streak?!

Problem is though with Duncan losing money KNunn getting money. If he keeps up this production he could very easily get himself a 18-20mil deal.

Neither Nunn nor Robinson is not getting that kind of money.

Nunn is putting up similar numbers to Seth Curry (4-year, $32M in 2019), Jordan Clarkson (4-year, $52M in 2019), Josh Richardson (4-years, $42M in 2017), or Patty Mills (4-years, $50M in 2017).

If Nunn keeps up his play, I expect he'll get something in the $10-11M per season range; so, something like 4-years, $40-45M.

Robinson has a skillset teams covet, so his cost may get artificially expensive; however, that depends on how many teams will actually have cap room. I still expect Robinson to get $12-14M per season, so 4-years, $50-55M because there are going to be a lot of free agents who have a similar skillset (McDermott, Redick, Danny Green, Norman Powell, Gary Trent Jr, Otto Porter Jr, Garrett Temple, Tim Hardaway Jr, Will Barton, Kent Bazemore, Evan Fournier)

I don't expect Robinson to get near that money next season either and I'm definitely overestimating with my 18-20mil number now that you put it in more perspective. But the way Nunn has been playing for us recently I would put him above all those guys you mentioned.

Since getting consistent minutes with us this season in his last 20 games he's averaging,
17.3ppg, 3.9rpg, 3.2apg, 1.4spg shooting 48.5FG%, 40.1 3pt%, 90 FT% while attempting 13.5FGAs and 7 3PAs per game and only with a 21%USG.
The only guy I'll give you is Jordan Clarkson but if he was getting his contract after the way he has been playing to start this season I imagine it would be considerably more than 4yr 52mil.

If Nunn can have a runner up rookie of the year and follow it up with a second year of this and maintain it I could see him getting 4yr 60-65mil range. That's about 12-13.5mil starting range.

I believe dean456 is right about Nunn, maybe even conservative. Nunn can probably get almost 13-14% of cap if he keeps playing this well.

Team average position expense for PG is $29.1m per season.

If we skip top 12 point guards (in salary) Steph, Paul, Russ, Wall, Conley, Kemba, Kyrie, Dame, Simmons, Lowry, Jamal Murray, here is the next tier.

16%
VanVleet: $21.25 (signed through 2023-2024, last season is Player Option)
Brogdon: $20.7 (signed through 2022-2023)
Rozier: $18.9 (signed through 2021-2022)

15%
Goran: $18 (team option through 2021-2022)

13%
Rubio: $17 (signed through 2021-2022)
Bledsoe: $16.875 (signed through 2022-2023, last season partial guarantee)
Schroeder: $16 (final season)

11-12%
Dejounte Murray: $14.286 (signed through 2023-2024)
Patty Mills: $13.535 (final season)
Smart: $13.4 (signed through 2021-2022)
Beverley: $13.3 (signed through 2021-2022)

10%
Cojo: $12.6 (2021-2022 is partial guarantee of $2.6m)
Fultz: $12.3 (signed a 3-year extension through 2023-2024, average $16.7m)
Clarkson: $11.5 (signed a 4-year deal through 2023-2024, last season Player Option)
Dinwiddie: $11.5 (player option for 2021-2022)
Ball: $11 (RFA, Qualifying Offer: $14.4m, Cap Hold: $28.7m)

I feel we are too close to Robinson's sun to see him clearly.

Who knows? There have been some crazy contracts handed out in the NBA.

I think part of the problem is there isn't any hype around Nunn and he is going to have to compete with other players who play a similar position: T Hardaway Jr, Gary Trent Jr, V Oladipo, potentially Spencer Dinwiddie, Devonte' Graham, potentially Josh Richardson, Derrick Rose, Reggie Jackson, Lou Williams, Talen Horton Tucker, Dennis Schröder, potentially Jrue Holiday, Lonzo Ball, Evan Fournier, DeMar DeRozan, Patty Mills, and Norman Powell.

I really like Nunn, but it is also hard to see him developing into a guy who can be more than a role player; that's why I used Jordan Clarkson, Seth Curry, Josh Richardson, and Patty Mills (they are all good players, but they are unquestionably role players) as my comparisons as opposed to VanVleet, Schröder, Terry Rozier, or Marcus Smart, who are all legit starters in the NBA and capable of getting 40 or 50 (VanVleet and Rozier) in a game and/or elite defenders (VanVleet and Smart).

Jordan Clarkson is having an incredible season and playing out of his mind, but it remains to be seen if this is the new Jordan Clarkson or if he is just having a career year.

Duncan Robinson will sign more than what he is worth in the off season coz Some teams will over pay him to pry him away from the Heat. Same goes to Nunn.

If the Heat resign Duncan and Nunn, and keep Goran 19m salary, resign KO and use the MLE, they will be a tax team. I think Nunn should be traded before the deadline.

Return to Miami Heat
