VICTOR OLADIPO: The Official Thread

Regardless of my preferences, Oladipo is now a member of the Heat and I wish him well. If he's healthy, he'll be a great addition and a good teammate.

IggieCC rumored to be part of the Oladipo trade.

Good news he can sail the Shambles down the coast to Houston!

If Victor Oladipo can stay healthy, this deal turns into a bargain and we can keep Goran.

I was paying close attention to Dipo all year -

Let's be honest, he REALLY struggled with Rockets, missed a TONM of shots...BUT, last couple of weeks he's been preaty good. Let's hope it's a sign of things to come. He does have talent.

For the price we paid, it's a pure positive anyway.

Olynyk for Bjelica makes the front court weaker, not stronger. We better get Aldridge or have a good plan B.

I know you're trying to keep your expectations low, but let's be honest. Dipo is gonna kill it with us lol I'm so excited.

I love your optimism. I really do.

We can keep our money for the offseason, we trade players who weren't even playing and without spending assets, we keep Goran, Oladipo could become the player he was before his injuries and he's definitely going to improve our team this season.

Welcome V.O.

We're looking at a more consistent scoring option than our beloved Kelly Olynyk. Although his shooting percentages haven't been the prettiest in Houston, playing alongside Butler, Adebayo, Robinson and Dragic should ease some of the defensive attention that he receives on a nightly basis.

Rockets are a mess of a team. Harden, Eric Gorden, PJ Tucker, all of the original core members have played horribly this szn.

I'm fairly optimistic that he'll play better for us, more organized and more motivated team with leaders and good coaching staff.

Seems kinda strange you'd trade for a guy who has already said he wanted to come to MIA. You just trade some assets (whatever size they may be) for the opportunity to sign him next year when you would've already been able to do that anyway. Guess the timing is the thing here but do you think he'll make that much difference in the playoffs this year as compared to the added value those traded assets could've helped ?

Not only the timing, but the salary as well. By trading for him today, we acquired his bird rights, meaning we can have more cap space this offseason to further improve the roster.

Very important point. If our biggest off-szn move were signing Dipo, who just played the entire szn for the league worst team unmotivated, then that would be pretty underwhelming and RISKY.

now we'll get to see firsthand how he fits with us and how he plays with the winning culture. this is a great signing on so many levels and we gave up very little anyways.. that's a cost well worth paying.
