Nobody had a problem with our off season in the offseason because the FO did what a lot of teams do after a Finals run and stayed put. We're just trash because a few players have regressed, I don't think it's deeper than that.

I don't think we should've stayed put, but it wasn't an insane decision. Awful gamble, but not insane

Why didnt Spo play Belly against his old team? Dont get it Bish.

KAT is a softy. I’ve wanted n to trade his a$$. Tonite he looked like a HoFer.

Herro is straight up regressing and has never been a good defender.

Herro needs serious revamp

Herro right now straight garbage.
Could be tired legs or straight sucking. But Spo is counting on the wrong players game in and game out, and can’t see to recognize when particular player needs to be bench. Probably one of the worst coach in such category and very frustrating. It’s gotten so old that I wouldn’t mind seeing another coach guiding the Heat.

Sorry this dumb. Spo took this team to the finals last season. Name me any other coach maybe apart from Pop who would have done that. Spo is somewhat at fault but majority is on players. Dragic is on the decline as expected. But we expecting the younger players Herro, Bam & Duncan to pick up the slack and take another jump. Bam has shown glimpses when Jimmy was out but reverted back. Herro & Duncan have been worse than they were during the bubble.

In what world is Spo not to blame? Ber hanging out with Sonny Burnett much? SMH

This was a demoralizing loss. Spo's small ball approach is being decimated by NBA scrubs. The Heat are basically a .500 basketball team, if that. This coach better get his act together or the playoffs will be in serious jeopardy.

I'll try to explain it. Aside from Bam, our "bigs" are Nemanja Bjelica, Precious Achiuwa, Dewayne Dedmon, and Udonis Haslem. None of those guys are good players at this point. One doesn't even play. There is no scenario in which we try to match size and come out on top. The best "talent" on our roster aside from Bam is SFs and Guards. That's what you have to put on the floor and try to force the other team to adjust to your strengths. Unfortunate that doesn't work if your talent doesn't play well.

In other words we're screwed. And the only chance we have of getting unscrewed is for our smaller players to play better, because our talented players aren't getting any bigger, and our bigger players aren't getting any more talented.

It's easy to **** on Spo, but this is the roster he's got.

At this point I wouldn’t mind the Heat missing the playoffs going on a losing streak, of course not by design lol, and getting a better pick. This team is treadmill by pure definition.

It’s defeating having to overcompensate for our lack of size

It's a 2-fold problem for Bam.

1: He lacks the mentality of an alpha.

2: He lacks the moves. Still a very raw offensive player

Even if Miami was playing well and were a top 4 seed, we were just going to be contempt with being a good playoff team with just a chance? We did nothing to address the issues. In fact, we got worse. We're not going to win games when our perimeter guys can't defend with ZERO paint defense. If Bam is covering perimeter guys, we can't defend the paint. Even when Bam does, he's not the most dominant defensive enforcer in the paint either. And the offense is even worse. The shooters all regressed. So we have guys who can't defend or shoot consistently. Recipe for disaster.

Lilseb93 wrote:This obsession with small ball just isn't going to cut it. Even if we didn't suck, this team was never going to win a title playing small ball. It just puts so much strain on the perimeter guys to be perfect on defense. A lot of our guys can't even do that. Then they do all that work just to give an easy basket in the paint on a rebound or getting caught on a switch.

Basically, this is not Miami Heat basketball. It worked when we had LeBron, but that era is long gone. We need bigs. We need defense. This is the Houston Rockets, except we don't have a James Harden.

You realize we were in the NBA finals a few months ago, right?
