Finally some good news to get this thread back in action. Quetta and Murphy for me please.

I'd move Herro, Precious, KZ and whatever they want for any of Cade, Mobley, or Green. Those three have some pretty high ceilings.
That's too much. Herro arguably goes top 5 in a redraft, Achiuwa has the potential to become a floor-spacing big man and KZ has elite defensive tools.

Drafting really is a tricky business.
In a vacuum - I don't see a reason Precious can't make Bam-like leaps in the next few seasons and become an all-star big.
His rookie stats are identical to Bam's, He's as good of an athlete, smooth shooting stroke, looks humble and hard working.
But somehow in the same time it looks really unlikely he becomes even close to that. At least it doesn't look like the Org has such high hopes for him.
When we drafted KZ I was 100% sure he's going to be a good rotation guy - a guy with his length and smoothness and handle. Yet we're still waiting.
It's just very hard to predict which player is going to "get it" and see the game slow down, and which will always be stuck in the "he has all the tools but never put it together" category.

Re: 2021 NBA Draft Thread
BTW even with the top 3 prospects this year - Cade is the only one I can 100% say will "get it". He's just a natural baller.
Green and Mobley do have elite tools but you never know if they really develop enough to be NBA studs.

I’m all in on Livers. Lights out 3 point and free throw shooter. 6’7 230. Should be a first rounder if not for the injury.

Re: 2021 NBA Draft Thread
Wow I would be hesitant to expect Achiuwa to be ever called a floor spacer. I think he can eventually knocked down some threes but not as a serious threat. I think his ball handling will develop better than his shooting from 3.Feel_the_Heat15 wrote:DayofMourning wrote:Wiltside wrote:I’ll give them Herro for Cade. Cool?

This is our guy right here. Most Mocks have him going in the 40's. Possibly buy the 43rd pick from the Pels.

We’ve had success with a Wolverine in the past, and with Juwan as a Head Coach, you’d think we’d get a very solid appraisal.
Is he more a 3 or 4 at the next level?

If that's a question you're asking, then he's a Heat 4 lol

I like him as a 3 at 6’7 230 but Spo will be tempted to use him as a stretch 4 lol. Kid can shoot his ass off. He’s coming in at a discount because of the foot injury in the big 12 chip. He was not able to do a combine workout. He’s got Heat player written all over him. As a matter of fact we met with him during the pre draft process. BOOM!
“Livers is coming off a magnificent senior season in which he averaged 13.1 points, six rebounds and two assists while shooting 43.1% from 3-point range — all career-highs. So far, Livers has met with at least the Utah Jazz, the New York Knicks, the Miami Heat and the Los Angeles Clippers”

Re: 2021 NBA Draft Thread
I think we will definitely try to add a player with that exception. The key is it being a 2nd rounder so the contract isn't guaranteed up front
We have a major need at the 3 behind Jimmy. Someone that Spo will actually play at the 3. Guard skills, can pass as a shooter. Likely a big program guy that slips
First off, I think their #1 target is going to be Trey Murphy, but I think he is going to end up going in the top 20-23
Isaiah Livers, who was mentioned above, is great fit
Another guy they may like is
DJ Stewart -

Re: 2021 NBA Draft Thread
JT Thor sounds like an interesting prospect.
6'9" with a 7'3" wingspan. Light frame at 203lbs and only 18yrs old.
Averaged 9.4ppg, 5.0rpg, 0.9apg, 1.4bpg, 0.8spg, 1.6tpg, 2.0 fpg in 23.0mpg. Shot 44% from the floor, 29.7% 3fg (0.8/2.7) and 74% from the line.
He's probably too young for someone like us, we prefer guys who are typically a bit more seasoned. Plus he's a lefty, which I automatically like (even though I'm a righty).
