Places to live in Miami

Post#1 » by Nowak008 » Wed Jul 7, 2021 3:02 am

Hello all. For a family of 4 with two small kids, what would be some of the best places/neighborhoods to live in Miami? Looking for something relatively close to downtown Miami.

Unless you MUST live in Miami for work, I think it would be much better for you family to be more in the Broward area. Davie, Plantation, Cooper City, Weston, Pembroke Pines.

Gives you roughly a 20 min drive to Downtown Ft. Lauderdale and still only about 30-40 from Miami.

If you have to live in Miami, Coconut Grove/Pine Crest areas are going to be your best bet for your family (depending on budget)

South Florida is so expensive right now. Without a budget in mind, it's hard to even make a recommendation. If budget is not a problem, you have Coral Gables, Buena Vista, Pinecrest, Coconut Grove as nice neighborhood in the Miami-Dade area. In Broward county, Weston, Coral Springs, Boca Raton, Parkland are nice.

I'd second the Broward recommendation, and agree on Pines, Weston, Davie, Cooper, Plantation.... Would add in West Miramar as well. It all depends on budget though. The market out here is red hot right now.

Family of 4 over here as well, also with 2 small kids. We live in Pembroke Pines and have no complaints.

Buying a house anywhere is suicide right now.
I’m in Tennessee and my 3600 sq ft home cost me $365K in 2017. It’s now worth $500K+
If I didn’t have a baby on the way, I’d keep it hush hush and move out of this school district and cash in, but I can’t. I’ve had idiot neighbors that sold at a massive profit and spent it all and some more to stay in the same school district.
If anybody can wait it out and live in an apartment for a couple of years, that’s the money play.

Back in March I didn't think a bubble was coming. Now I'm not so sure.

I live in PSL(lol), and there are some houses here selling over 400k with people paying 30k over appraisal. Houses that are 300k max in reality for 2021.

So I hope to god the idiots overpaying here are from up north and have excess cash from selling their NY home cause if they are balling on a budget we are going to see foreclosures spike in the short term.
