Herro work ethic rumors

The Skolnick podcast seems to drop a lot of hints that Jimmy is unhappy with Herro and his work ethic. This is a huge change from last year, when everyone associated with the Heat raved about how hard Herro worked.
Is there anything to this stuff? It’s hard to believe so much can change in one year.

this has been for a while that he has been too focused on modeling and stardom than putting in that extra work. If he sint working like that dog anymore then you have to trade him. His best asset coming into the draft was his work ethic but money sometimes changes guys and its a shame if he doesnt

I been blasting the guy for his work ethic for the last 6 months. Made no progress this season cuz he thought he was already made.

We have no way of really knowing what goes on behind the scenes. Especially with reporters not hanging around the team like they used to before covid.
What we can say is that Jimmy seems to distance himself from Tyler, and that wasn't the case last year. And we also saw Herro isn't as ready to win now as some of us hoped after his rookie year.
I think the org will try to go full on win-now mode, and that means they'll trade Herro for a more ready to win player if they find a trade they like.

One downside to having a team in Miami is that I'm sure the Heat, Marlins, Panthers(sunrise close enough) and Heat have is the distractions. Especially for young guys who may of had fame in college but nothing like this especially when they are getting paid big bucks now.
Definitely not the only city with this "issue" but Miami definitely is up there imo.
I'm not too worried yet long term about Herro but we'll see as this offseason progresses and how the 21-22 season goes.
Hopefully, if the rumors are true, he grows up when it comes to being a professional NBA player and understands not only may this end his Miami career but huge $$$ chances if he chases short term off the court fame

This is a real thing. And this is why I use to mention maturity when evaluating a players. Some smirked at the concept to maturity and professionalism being a large factor in players. There are sacrifices that has to be made when becoming a professional, most of the time players take on too much and either their career or private life suffers. Some players are major focused on their careers and limit their private life. Its a balance young players have to learn to manage. Its not as simple as shooting hoops then going home and do whatever.
I use to use Beasley as an example. Kid had all the talent but couldn't handle being a professional at high level and his private life bleed onto the court performance.

It's bull, they had a shortened offseason in a god damn pandemic. Who was he gonna be working with to display this "work ethic"
Where was Jimmy's work ethic when he was missing every shot conceivable while being swept?

Dude hasn't even had a legitimate offseason to apply his work ethic yet

He's working out with Drew Hanlen, trainer to some legit stars (Beal, Embiid, Tatum). Hopefully it gets him well prepared for training camp, ready to come in and take a starting spot.
I think we'll see an improved Tyler next year. That doesn't necessarily have to mean he suddenly becomes an All-Star calibre player. He may never reach that ceiling. But it'd be great if he became an 18ppg 2-guard who can shoot at a high % clip (47%+), hit the 3 ball at a high level (2.5-3.0 on 40%), playmake a little, rebound well and keep the turnovers low.
Ideally he isn't picked on extensively on the defensive end and can hold his own there, even if it'll never be a calling card.
I think we need to be patient with him. He's 21 years old and has already delivered above expectations for a 13th pick. I think he has another level he can get to.

Worth noting that on just about every metric, Tyler was essentially the same player in his 2nd year as he was in his rookie year. That's not surprising at all considering the minimal break between seasons, with no rest or time to work on weaknesses from a skill point of view, or even work on his fitness and frame. In the interim, teams got a really long look at scouting him to try take away his strengths.
PER36 over his 2 seasons:
Rookie: 17.7ppg, 5.3rpg, 2.9apg, 0.8spg, 0.2bpg, 2.1tpg, 42.8%FG, 38.9% 3FG, 87.0%FT, 52.0% eFG, 103 ORTG, 112 DRTG
2nd Year: 17.9ppg, 5.9rpg, 4.1apg, 0.8spg, 0.4bpg, 2.2tpg, 43.9%FG, 36.0% 3FG. 80.3%FT, 51.6% eFG, 104 ORTG, 113 DRTG

All we've heard over the past two seasons is how this team has a locker room where they hold each other accountable and arent afraid to confront each other. That's come from Spo and the coaches all the way down to the players. That's why I don't buy the Herro work ethic stuff, if that was really the issue when have we known Jimmy to ever be silent? Now maybe some in the organization aren't big fans of his social profile, but that has nothing to do with work ethic.

yawll saw that video with Drob working out with Dinwiddie. Hes not the greatest but Drob is trying to do any and everything he can to get better.
Herro about to host his basketball camp. Looks like he has been adding ink too. Im not worried Im sure if there is no work ethic anymore the Heat will make the necessary moves.

Perception really has been a roller coaster ride with him. Probably got over-rated after the bubble after a couple hot games, and now expectations got way too high this season. I've generally been a hater, but even I think he wasn't that bad compared to expectations this year (granted my own expectations were more tempered I guess)

His fans remind me of Booker fans. One good game every five outings. We. Need. More.
