That will indeed happen. It's time for Spo to practice his game plans for the playoffs. He his likely gonna run certain line ups vs certain matchups to fine-tune his schemes. It needs to be running on all 8 cylinders coming April (March in my opinion).

Does it feel odd to anyone else that Oladipo has been on the Roster nearly a year now?

I could see Miami waiting till after the trade deadline to bring him back to offset doing nothing at the trade deadline, then again I could see him waiting until some small to medium scale consolidation trade happens creating room for him.

I'm a little interested in what Spoelstra would do with Westbrook since he was interested in acquiring him in the past, but it would have to be for 2 bad big contracts. Westbrook definitely isn't a positive asset.

Sure we would but Miami's FO should have a very good idea what he's going to bring by watching him in rehab, practicing and knowing Spoelstra, he's not splitting time, either you get normal minutes or you don't play.

My guess if Oladipo looks right(if he doesn't he's just a lost asset), Miami is going to move forward as if Oladipo is a long term piece(3 or so years), not as a some part time player although he may come off the bench.

Nope, IMO as I said last summer. Him and Heat sat down and had a long term plan that they both agreed upon. Dipo wants to be here and Heat were willing to have patience and pay him through the rehab and hopefully get a boost from him during the playoffs but not dependent upon him.

I'm really fascinated to see if the Heat can pull off a depth consolidation trade to strengthen the core playoff rotation. I think most agree it will be ideal if Duncan can be the key figure in such a trade.

Only PGs I’m making that Lowry/Herro trade for is Dame, Luka, Curry, Kyrie, Lamelo, Harden, Ja, and maybe Trae. Cracks me up that people think Westbrook is worth that still. I think bleacher report put out something similar to that recently.

So how are we distributing minutes these days? This is the way I see it.

Seems about right. Interested to see if Gabe goes back to DNPs when Lowry comes back. His minutes likely split between Struss and Martin if so. Maybe some to Duncan

Deepest Heat team ever. Legit 14 deep of quality rotation pieces. KD Hurt. Bucks have the hardest schedule remaining of all the East contenders. Great position to be in. Just stay healthy.

To better handle the tax bill next year Miami should look to move Robinson's contract this season for an expiring that helps the Heat this year(for example, Robinson for Covington or better yet Nance). Waiting until the summer to move Robinson will be more challenging to shed money since a sizable expiring doesn't help that much.

The Heat's situation with Oladipo is very interesting to me, I expect him to be rusty but athletic on offense while being one of the better defenders on the team although maybe Martin is good enough to not worry about that(Martin still needs to be converted to a minimum contract to become playoff eligible this year).

If Chicago weren't playing so well, I would have thought trading Robinson and Herro for Zach LaVine was the plan. It's too perfect that Robinson ($15,560,000) plus Herro ($4,004,280) total $19,564,280 not to be suspicious. Isn't Zach LaVine making $19,500,000 this season? That transaction seems to solve multiple problems at once.

If Chicago weren't playing so well, I would have thought trading Robinson and Herro for Zach LaVine was the plan. He's also a unrestricted free agent this offseason, he could leave for nothing. Miami would own his Bird Rights but then you're dealing with Butler's, Bam's, and Lowry's big contracts with needing to pay LaVine and Oladipo.

It's quite possible that Miami can hold onto Herro and hope he keeps developing and work with Lowry on his 3rd year to decline it only to resign him over 2 years if he's still good. Also Strus, Vincent and Yurtseven are free agents that offseason too.
