We missed Herro tonight.

Can’t wait for Dipo either.

That's a playoff rotation. Where does Dragic fit?

Experience.
This dude won a Euro chip.
None of the Heat players with the exception of role players PJ and of course Lowry, have won anything.
When a shot is needed, the real DNA kicks in.

Alright, that doesn't answer my question. In the playoffs, where rotations are drastically shrunk, who is Dragic replacing in the backcourt? The only solution I can think of is Dipo running the 3 while one of Duncan/Strus/Caleb get dropped from rotation. PJ/Morris handle the 4. Bam/Dedmon handle the 5.

Better defender too. But they're not likely to bench 90 million. It's why we didn't play Mike Miller over Lebron when he was sucking it up against Dallas in 2011; an entirely different set of circumstances, but the precedent is set.

Not a "scorer", not a "defender", just a 3pt shooter who played 20 minutes tonight in a game Miami desperately needed shooting.

Every Duncan believer I've talked to swears this is fair value for Duncan Robinson.

I've never heard of a 3pt specialist getting paid this much money before in my life - especially by Riley, who never overpaid a 3pt specialist before Duncan, which I suspect was done as a favor to Spoelstra.

So now even Riley’s clear and obvious failures were Spo’s fault? This ridic Spo hate is becoming a parody of itself at this point

Their role players stepped up, ours were god awful. That’s basically the difference. Gabe Duncan Struss etc sucked. Bam dominated the first half and we went away from him for whatever reason in the 2nd. Idk why Jimmy is catching blame, he dominated the 4th just got 0 help. Refs were suspect as hell to close too but shouldn’t have even came to that, normal shooting night and we win in a blowout

It's a make or miss league. They shot lights out from deep and we struggled. Sometimes it really is that simple.

37-21 with the all-star break fast approaching and Herro, Oladipo and Morris expected back soon there-after. I'll take it any day of the week.

On to the next one.

Win this next one against a team we’ve smacked twice already and go into the break in a high note

Lowry/Dipo
Jimmy/Herro
Who the **** knows
PJ/Morris
Bam/Dedmon

That's a very solid playoff rotation if everyone is healthy. But Duncan regressing at the 3 is bad news. I would be completely happy if it was just Strus/Caleb at the 3 because you need versatile players at the 3 with our switching defense. But that won't happen. We can't play Yurt unless we go back to funneling players into him again. He's not a switching defender.

Strus is everything we paid Duncan to be, except he's doing it on a minimum contract and with better defense. Plus, he's more dynamic on offense.

As with Yurtz, there was no reason for Strus to ever be demoted.

When players are earning starting positions and playing time, but you bench them for guys who aren't, you're sending the wrong message and hurting your team's chances of winning.

Don't disagree with the explanation as to why, but we're gonna lose out on a championship over the belief that we can't admit that we signed Duncan to a bad deal.

This is Sunk Cost Fallacy in full effect.

A Heat player I'm cool with told me this when I asked him why we didn't play Mike Miller and bench LBJ at the time in that summer after the loss. Called it politics. But this is Duncan Robinson, not one of the greatest players of all time. So who knows how it'll go down now. I hope we bench him for Strus if he doesn't return to form before the playoffs. I'm tired of him getting hunted on switches. It is a giant hole in our defensive scheme.

Even as a huge big booty Strussy fan, I don’t agree that he should start in the playoffs. In the playoffs they need to stop kidding themselves and put Tyler in the SL.

Lowry
Herro
Butler
PJ
Bam

But Strus does need to take all Duncan’s minutes come playoff time.

A Heat player? Damn, nice!

Yeah, LBJ is definitely more understandable.

I can live with an off-night from Duncan, but I can't live with him continuing to get plays called when it's obvious he's not getting good looks (credit the Mavs D) or knocking down the good looks he's getting. Not to mention being targeted by the opponent's offense. At that point, just sit him out.

This was a game for Bam (and Yurtz) to feast, but we didn't take advantage of that.

Jimmy was also better than our roleplayers, at least he got some touches.

BTW, this is what the playoffs will be like - roleplayers may not have good shooting nights, and our stars have to step up.

I love the equal opportunity offense for getting our roleplayers XP but, when it's not working, you need to run plays for your stars.

Well, ex-Heat player today. He's doing....bigger and better things now, lol. I completely agree. But I expect Dipo/Herro to fill that gap and take the pressure off Jimmy/Bam. Wish Kyle was 4 years younger.
