Don't disagree with the explanation as to why, but we're gonna lose out on a championship over the belief that we can't admit that we signed Duncan to a bad deal.
This is Sunk Cost Fallacy in full effect.
A Heat player I'm cool with told me this when I asked him why we didn't play Mike Miller and bench LBJ at the time in that summer after the loss. Called it politics. But this is Duncan Robinson, not one of the greatest players of all time. So who knows how it'll go down now. I hope we bench him for Strus if he doesn't return to form before the playoffs. I'm tired of him getting hunted on switches. It is a giant hole in our defensive scheme.
A Heat player? Damn, nice!
Yeah, LBJ is definitely more understandable.
I can live with an off-night from Duncan, but I can't live with him continuing to get plays called when it's obvious he's not getting good looks (credit the Mavs D) or knocking down the good looks he's getting. Not to mention being targeted by the opponent's offense. At that point, just sit him out.
This was a game for Bam (and Yurtz) to feast, but we didn't take advantage of that.
Jimmy was also better than our roleplayers, at least he got some touches.
BTW, this is what the playoffs will be like - roleplayers may not have good shooting nights, and our stars have to step up.
I love the equal opportunity offense for getting our roleplayers XP but, when it's not working, you need to run plays for your stars.
