Game 80 / Heat vs Hornets - 79 down, three to go // Apr 5 / 7:30pm

Post#1 » by harlem_ball » Mon Apr 4, 2022 2:37 am

It was a battle for the ages as Lowry defeated his nemesis VanVelveeta as Butler and Tucker rested.

Dipo showed he still functioned. Not unlike Megatron before Megatron became Galvatron.

The Great Thundaaaa Strus Moose erupted in alpha.

The young Herro continues his education.

Bam, tired, dreary, helmed the defense again, one of the top defenses in the league.

And now these battle hardened warriors, left for dead weeks ago, return home to take on the boys in turquoise.

Their mission a success, they await the battles ahead in the intensity of the yoffs.

No rest for the weary.

I like our chances with the Hornets. A win against the Hornets eliminates the Bucks and the 76ers from 1st place and reduces magic number vs the Celtics to 1. This is an important game. Don't screw it up, OP.

Miami has a lifetime regular season record against the Charlotte Hornets of 70-46, 40-18 at home. The Heat have won 2 of our 3 playoff series for a combined record of 8-6. Miami has won the last 4 games against the Hornets, including the double overtime win in February.

This might be the easiest game of the stretch. The Kings were tougher because of the previous events.

I remember 11-30 with these guys. ^

Strus is this teams savior. Him and Yurt. We couldn’t have won the raptors game without their contributions

Strus: 23 points with 7 3s +10
Yurt: 6-2 -5

Without yurts contribution we lose the rebounding battle by 2

This was a much needed change I’ve been asking for for awhile with this team struggling a ton in the clutch. It’s time to make Bam that guy. Give him the ball and tell him to go to work, he has a mismatch majority of the time. He’s either faster than his defender or bigger, stronger, more athletic.

If Herro is doing his thing and Lowry and Jimmys recent play in the clutch is here to stay our clutch stats could do a complete 180 for the playoffs.

Idk what green font means!

I like Yurt, I think he’ll be a solid piece for us in the coming years. I just like to poke fun at the guys who think he’s the difference in us winning a championship or not this season.

We can’t bench this. A few of these were in big time moments, we need that extra guy who feels comfortable in the clutch. Showing he can play off ball as well as creating for himself and others. Showing good defensive signs.

I’ll admit I was thinking maybe it’s just best if he sits and gets himself right this summer but my stance has changed. It’s hard to show what you can do when you’re on a minutes restriction every game. Last night he was able to play free and played 27 minutes, found a groove and did his thing.

I was watching the highlights from last night, Bam is doing A LOT more rolling to the basket, holy hell. He's running p&r with Kyle and it forces help from the weak side. Open 3s. Simple yet effective offense. Helps tremendously that Strus is loose.

Bam has a good game damn near every time he touches the court. I’m busy, I don’t always get to have my head buried in these threads at night

Yurt did ok for being in a cobweb state. Herro found him for some sick feeds.

Sammy sucker continues his jealous assault. His precious Bam didn't score all of the frontcourt points.

Well he might be, and the reason is he is a rebounding machine, you need rebounding to win. Offensively he is not there just yet but he just gets rebounds. As simple as it sounds he is a rebounding force in our team. Once Yurt gets himself ready offensively this team will just jump to another Tier.

Exellent game by Dipo, the question is, was this a mirage? or he is just ready. If yesterday's display is here to stay then our team got much more tough to beat.

I don't think he'll be on fire from 3 like that on the regular, after all he did match a career high. But it is possible that during all the time rehabbing he really improved his 3pt shot. The rest of his game that he showed, the movement (crossover and the step backs), the dunk, and his defense, all that looks legit for sure.

HAHAHAHAHAHA I died from laughing so hard… thank you for doing that… when I mentioned yurt played well so many games in a row, I was told that was just a “mirage” and he’s not ready.. dipo has 1 break out game with few games left from play offs and “he’s ready” let him take so and so’s minutes LOLLL

DIPO IS NOT READY!!! Next year he will be.. give him time ;)

PS INB4 “dipo and yurt in the same sentence lol” replies
