How in the hell did we lose Game 7 to the Knicks in 2000?

I was watching highlights of that game on YouTube and wow!
Our team was LOADED, Zo was dominant. How the hell did we lose it?
That core of Zo, Timmy, Mashburn and Brown should have won something meaningful and the phucking Knicks had us beat mentally always!

Timmy had bad knees and wasn’t himself. Mashburn was soft. 2001 team with Eddie Jones, Anthony Mason, and Brian Grant was even more loaded. But Zo went down with his illness.

Tim Bug was fading fast, the Heat needed 1 more alpha scorer. Acquiring Sprewell would have put us over the top.
I agree Mash was not a good fit here even though he was a great talent.

At that point the Heat just felt cursed. Mason ended up being a surprisingly effective replacement and made the All Star game.

At the end of the day, despite all the setbacks and terrible occurrences, the Heat went to the finaks 6 times this century. I hope they get there again this year.

I'd give anything to see Heat/Knick games like those again. They were legendary. This year's Nets are like those Knicks in that the Nets are actually not an 8th seed, they're much better. How did those Knicks end up with the 8th seed? Injuries as well I guess? If the full 82 games had been played they DEFINITELY would've finished higher.
Those Kincks were a bunch of thugs. They probably went gangbanging after home games. Maybe even road games if they were on the road in Blood or Crip territory.
