Obviously I want a sweep but worst case let’s split these and close it out at the crib in game 5.

Imagine thinking Trae is better than Jimmy and being dead ass serious. Just the usual inflated regular season numbers being favored over elite 2 way play. Jimmy is the best overall player in this series and it’s not even close.

Imagine we’re in game 6 of the finals at home up 3-2 and Jimmy has a performance like last night to close it out and win the championship :o

Would solidify himself as the 3rd greatest player in Heat history.

“Me and Vic are pros; we came back from a long layoff,” Morris said. “It’s not easy not to play, especially with our resume and knowing what we can do. And if I was never injured, I was always going to play. But you’ve got to be professional about it. I’m not going to cause a rift because I’m not playing. I’m going to support the guys because I know eventually I’ll be needed.”

Gotta respect Markeiff and Oladipo being good soldiers about their situation. Selfishly I hope one or both get another crack at minutes this post season.

Gotta suck the air out of the Hawks wings. 3-0 lead and close it on game 4 or 5. Need to prepare for the 76ers.

If we make it that far, Jimmy would absolutely need to have a similar performance to last night to close it off in the finals. Giannis had to go for 50 to close off the Suns last year.

Let's take a look at ORTG-DRTG for game 2?
Overall the issues were Lowry, Tucker, Bam and Martin who were negatives.

Butler, Strus, Herro, Gabe and Dedmon were all positive.

Butler +49 <- TS% .743
Lowry -30
Tucker -28
Bam -16
Strus +26 <- TS% .670

Herro +6 <- TS% .588
Gabe +18 <- TS% .751
Martin -36
Dedmon +16 <- TS% .600

Atlanta only had 2 positive ORTG-DRTG... Wright +15 and Bogdanovic +32.
Trae was -29 with his 10 TOs.

Either that or All of them, Bam, Jimmy, Lowry, Tyler need to go for 25+ points each. with the bench filling in the remainder.

4 guys giving Miami 100 ppg and 12-20 points from the rest? Dedmon, Strus, Tucker, Robinson, Vincent and Martin scored 39 last night, the first game 67. I don't think it's unreasonable to expect 40-60 points from the role-players.

Game 1.
ORTG-DRTG

Butler +21
Lowry +61 <- TS% .625
Bam -9
Strus +9
Tucker +74 <- TS% 1.00
Gabe +22
Robinson +125 <- TS% 1.293
Herro -32 <- TS% .273
Dedmon +47

Totals for Game1 & Game 2
ORTG-DRTG (season ortg-drtg) <- to see the difference so far.

Butler +33 (+16)
Lowry +9 (+8)
Herro -19 (-4)
Bam -12 (+13)
Vincent +19 (-4)
Tucker +31 (+10)
Strus +19 (+4)
Robinson +125 (+1)
Dedmon +27 (+12)

I may automate this(ugh), if II do that I guess I'll start creating graphics to show the impact of numbers.

Sexy counting stats are sexy. Defense isn't sexy to the casual observer, and that's who the national media caters to, hence the excessive Lakers/Knicks coverage despite both being terrible, Harden overhype, & now the thinking that Trae is the best player in this series. Jimmy ain't the type to drop jaw dropping counting stats, but his impact on both ends of the floor is apparent. Taking it to an even bigger extreme.....you, me & many others on this board can watch Bam put up triple single stats in Game 1 & get excited over it because we see how dominant the dude is defensively, while national types will barely give the guy any recognition & simply focus on Trae shooting 1-12. The latter is easy to dissect for the casual observer......but we know the real score

I can't wait to see how our bench responds on the road. @ATL can get pretty loud, so I feel like we're gonna need a combination of Butler/Bam/Lowry to be super aggressive to settle things down. They're gonna throw a haymaker at us to start, so we gotta be ready to absorb it and throw it back at 'em tenfold.
