Roster moves in off-season.

Post#1 » by Miami_Lux » Mon May 30, 2022 4:40 am

I know this is very soon after our exit. But let s look ahead and think about the moves Miami can make in the summer to make us a contender next season.

I think we could pull off Lowry, Duncan, and Herro for Lillard. Maybe somehow get PJ Washington involved in a trade. Re-sign Oladipo. Get some minimum or MLE point shooters. Make Bam shoot 3 pointers all summer for Gods sake. Develop Yurt in the off-season.

Lillard/Vincent
Oladipo/Martin
Butler/Strus
PJ Washington/Tucker
Bam/Yurt

Fill the rest of the roster with adequate role-players.

I fear that Lowry is too close to Jimmy to be moved. I hope I’m wrong, though.

Maybe. But Jimmy is also not blind. He knows a 32-year old Lillard will give him a better chance at a title than a washed 37 year old Lowry.

If Lillard is available I’m confident Riley will pull the trigger regardless of Lowry being close to Jimmy

i hate to sound redundant but spo and his entourage must go. small ball is culprit of all the heat's ailments, it doesnt matter who comes.

as long as spo sticks to his small ball schemes this is further that the heat will go.

also i dont hate dipo but i have my concerns if he can withstand a full season without getting injured.

but yes i expect changes, lets see what riley does

Lowry could still be useful. Y’all forget how good he was all season . He was also injured in the PO

I know Dame is a long shot with the pieces we have - but if you have the chance to get him, you do it. He's exactly what we need next to Jimmy.

I just want a move that forces Bam to the 4. Team that keep picking on Herro/strus etc would have to deal with a rim protector, and Bam can keep seeking to guard smalls like he really seems to enjoy.

I just want Duncan gone that's it. The way he played after getting payed is disgusting.

Resign Dipo to something reasonable. Same for Caleb.

We need an upgrade at PF that's it

We need to upgrade at PG, Lowry is not starting caliber anymore.

He wasn't healthy. He is still valuable here. Him and Vincent are good enough at PG. We need size and a solid 2nd option which can be Tyler or even Oladipo.

If we keep PJ i hope he can still contribute at his age. He was clearly banged up in this series but overall he was a pleasant surprise. 100% Heat player. I'm annoyed he isn't younger so we get to experience his play for longer.

I wouldn't keep Dedmon. No reason to do if he is unplayable in the playoffs and he struggled a lot in the 2nd part of the season.Maybe give Yurt a chance to start the season and get something else at the deadline if he doesn't produce.

Overall i wouldn't want to be the GM in this offseason. Strus/Vincent played their first full season as rotation players and maybe they can still grow. The potential is there. Tyler is young , Bam is still young. But then you have the old guys who are in win now mode. Tough choices ahead but clearly Duncan has to go. He doesn't have a future here.

That's a hard NO for the Blazers, they would be looking for additional draft picks which we don't have.

Duncan is Poo-poo and Tyler's postseason play majority sucks and they don't want an aging guard as well.

I'd be surprised if they even entertain this call.

Get me something resembling a rim protector and cut all the damn switching. It should be as needed, not the backbone of the defense. If I have to watch a guard holding off some big man again next year I'll scream

I believe if we wanted to we could draft for another team on draft night trade that players draft rights then also trade our 2023 and our 2028 picks as we now currently own all our own picks except for our 2025 pick to OKC which now is only lottery protected in 2025 and unprotected in 2026 after trading them KZ Okpala.

Portland has given no indication that they are willing to trade Lillard and Lillard has given no indication that he wants to leave.

Even if this changes, the idea that Mia could get him for Lowry is laughable.

I’d guess Portland would hang up the phone on any discussion that doesn’t include Bam.

Tbc, I personally would package Bam for Lillard.

Another star and a stretch 5. Bam needs to be slotted back to the 4, assuming he isn't dealt. No more small ball, we need to play more traditionally especially in this conference. Get Lowry/Duncan the **** off this team while you're at it.

Spo needs to get uncomfortable and embrace size. Bam needs to go to therapy or do whatever he needs to finally play the way he’s capable of on a nightly basis, as we saw in the playoffs its a handicap when your big is no threat to shoot from outside. Those two things alone could be a big help.

And we have to get another scorer in the lineup. “Shooters” always go cold when you need them.
