The conspiracy theorist in me says we are doing the Brunson representatives a favor so they could do us a solid down the road or in the very near future. A little sleuthing shows that Donavan Mitchell and TJ Warren are represented by the same CAA agency that represents Brunson. Could be relationship building here. I also have to imagine that Kyle Lowry is very aware of what's going on. Brunson actually knows Lowry from the Villanova connection. I'm not sure he wants to rattle things with forcing a trade of a fellow Villanova alumn whom he interviewed along with Deron Williams before choosing Villanova over Illinois.

This is about avoiding tampering or he wants to know if the Heat would trade Lowry and make him the starting PG. Jimmy let the Heat know he wanted to be in Miami when the Rockets were the perceived favorites and then the Heat moved heaven and earth to get it to happen. Brunson would have to give the Heat the word and they would make it happen again.

It’s possible the Brunson team spoke with Dallas management and they straight up said if you want to leave we’ll take Lowry back in a S&T if he chooses us. Just a hypothetical to make sense of it all.

No doubt Pat set up the meeting to convince Brunson to sign a short term deal so he'd be available in a couple of years when we have money available.

Pat didn't even set up the meeting. The team at CAA called up Riley and set it up.

What is surprising?

Whatever happens if it's big then it's true. If nothing happens then it's not true. Simple.

Listening to Adam in the basement and saying he thinks the team lied to Lowry which isn't necessarily true. If the trade was agreed to but not executed until the new NBA year starts, Miami could BARELY make the Irving trade without Butler, Bam or Lowry in the trade, it would take everyone else under contract for Miami... Robinson, Herro, Highsmith, Strus, Yurtseven and Vincent but they just barely make the 125% + 100k rule. It doesn't work for this current NBA year.

If there was a betting site that had odds about the Heat going into next season with the same squad minus dipo and Tucker.. id put my house on the line for it and feel confident id win.

We arent going to make any moves… the only move i see us making is using the MLE and some vet minimums.. theyre going to roll with Strus/Gabe/Caleb playing a larger role next season.

And if they can find a way to get an expiring for duncan, they may entertain that option. This is Arison, he hates the tax, he is not going to allow for the Heat to take on more money if it doesnt guarantee a finals run.

So yall can continue to make durant or liliard heat jersey edits.. we rolling the same squad, minus dipo and tucker, plus jovic, to start 2022

Miami can technically make the deal without Lowry being involved. Something like Brunson to Miami, Duncan to Dallas and one of Dallas' middle tier contracts gets dumped to a 3rd team.

Boi oh boi, if we flip Lowry to Jalen Brunson. If the reports are 4/100 then we will basically get him less on what Lowry makes a year with more years and younger.

But it's up to Jalen Brunson at the end of the day. Does he want to be with a losing culture (although his dad is there) vs a team where he would start Day 1 and would be part of the young core?

For the Mavs, they will get a vet ball handler that can help Luka throughout the season. This fairytale is more believable than the Donovan Mitchell/Bradley Beal pipedream.

Spoiler:
and of course the Knicks will take the big fat L again

I think what he meant was the Barry Jackson was doing damage control for Riley/Heat after this news leaked. Also the wording with something like "Lowry was never offered in a deal for Irving" or something to that effect, seems to indicate that maybe other options are in play where Lowry might be involved. Just not for Irving.

If Micky Arison is as upset about CCL stock as I am, that man is out there trying to recruit Michael Beasley and Mario Chalmers for the minimum. Don't really see anything big coming. We are being used as leverage with Brunson for the hundredth time.

I'm watching some Brunson highlights, he's crafty, definitely Dragic-esque. I'm just not a fan of these pint sized point guards.

If Bamba were the target of a sign and trade involving duncan would y'all be cool with a higher starting salary to facilitate the trade if it is on a declining salary scale rather than an increasing one?
