True, But I would have felt better about our Mitchell chances if Wade was around FTX arena on the daily instead of hanging in frigging Utah

They tried giving him ownership but he didn’t want it. He’s still pissed he was never the highest paid player in the roster. He would have been had he adapter his game and enveloped a 3pt shot but the franchise saw he was s destroying his body and his effectiveness was declining quick. He blames others for his own actions.

The thing about that, is it was just an freak anomaly.
Wade was given the max contract possible after his rookie contract.
It just that we traded for Shaq and Shaq had a giant veteran max contract, that Wade could not get due to how the rules were at the time. Wade was in his 3rd year or something, and Shaq was in his 13th.
Then the Big 3 happened in 2010. Even if Wade didn't take less for Haslem.... Wade STILL was playing with another max player in Lebron and Bosh, so again he woulda been tied for max again.
The only way for Wade to have had the title of highest paid player, is if Riles never trades for Shaq in 2004. Then we have no championship in 2006.
Same with Lebron and Bosh in 2010.
Does Wade want to give up rings for that title?
Just how it went down. but Wade was offered and given max contracts. That all he should think about.
The actual title of highest paid on team was his during the big 3 era in "spirit", but he gave up salary for Haslem and was tied with Lebron/Bosh.

No reason he couldn't have been given his money to come off the books with Bosh and then we would have crazy cap space and good will, but we decided to get cute and think Dragic and Whiteside could lead us somewhere. We're actually lucky he didn't hold a legit grudge, cause Butler likely wouldn't be here

Stop it, Riley decided to give Whiteside the max over making sure our franchise player who was responsible for our titles and success was happy and fed. He had/has every right to be mad.
Not to mention Butler doesn't sign with Heat if not for Wade, he's the gift that just keeps on giving.
Also the reason why Haslem is getting away with essentially being a player coach 15th man is too save face and make up for not taking care of Wade as he promised. I love Riles but lets call a spade a spade, he took for granted Wade's selflessness on making sure Heat always thrive.

I agree 100%. Mr. Wade doesn’t

it's very telling that he's movement is towards California and his son... Miami in the rear view mirror

Agreed though it feels like Wade has been pivoting away from Miami for quite some time. His wife is big time Hollywood/Cali girl. Wade himself has become a large Hollywood persona. Maybe the Heat brass saw the writing on the wall when we let him walk to Chicago and knew his heart was elsewhere than Miami long term

I don't know Hollywood's party scene... but I have a feeling that my Miami's is even bigger... could wade be afraid long-term for his children

Def believe the take on Wade pivoting away from Miami to Holly-Weird. Could be all about more opportunities for him and his wife Whatever the motivation just seem there was change once Gabrielle came into the picture.
