Just a different player than Jovic imo. He’s also 2 years older than Jovic.

Somewhat concerning lack of 3 ball. More paint and midrange oriented. More turnovers than assists in college. Doesn’t seem as fluid in space or on the perimeter. He def has an intriguing combo of skills and length. I’m just concerned that his offensive game seems very iso/ball dominant and he seems to require a lot of space in and around the paint for his offense.

Nelson reminds me of Sam Dekker as a prospect. But has a little more length

I get that everything is dependent on his progress but am genuinely real curious as to what will the Miami Heat coaching staff have in mind for Jovic next year (role, position, playing time) and how that would play out in their draft strategy.

It's probably my homer bias, but I am legit hyped for Jovic's potential. It should be fun to see him get more burn next season.

I was about to say the exact same thing....hmmm interesting, next to Bam at the 4 with that size and shooting could be a key piece.

His shooting form is starting to look more consistent. His shot used to look different every time in his earlier tape. I know it's just open gym drills, tho

That size and shooting AND REBOUNDING--arguably his most clearly elite trait at this point. With upside potential for much more.

After seeing what's going on with the Celtics series I really really do hope we finally invest in a young big wing/PF type player. Bam needs help up front with another athletic big in the worse way. I don't see many being offered up in trade or in the free agent market so we should continue to draft them. We had a good start drafting Jovic last year but we need a more physical type but who can also shoot. I'm fully on board with drafting Miller.

Bigs that make a difference are picked early, top 10 usually. If its a heavy draft you might get some go drop to 15 but thats as far as they get. You pick available at that point which would be guards or tweener wings.

Indian Pacers who has 3 first round picks 7, 26 and 29 has schedule workouts on Tuesday with Ricky Council IV (Arkansas), Nikola Durisic (Serbia), Tevian Jones (Southern Utah), Darius McGhee (Liberty), Jordan Miller (Miami) and Keisei Tominaga (Nebraska).

Pacers previous workouted Kobe Brown (Missouri), Andre Jackson Jr. (Connecticut), Jaime Jaquez (UCLA), Arthur Kaluma (Creighton), Liutauras Lelevicius (Zalgiris II), Grant Nelson (North Dakota State)

Pacers will controll much of the draft on who will fall or not fall and picks being moved. If Heat look to move back in the draft to gain addition picks, the Pacers would be a possibility.

The Atlanta Hawks who has the 15th pick. Four picks ahead of the Heat will have private workouts on Tuesday Overtime Elite’s Jazian Gortman, North Carolina’s Leaky Black, UAB’s Trey Jemison, TCU’s Emanuel Miller and Texas’ Sir’ Jabari Rice

Sacromento Kings who has the 24th pick had private workouts on Monday with Indiana big man Trayce Jackson-Davis and Kansas forward Jalen Wilson

LA Lakers first workouts on Friday, six prospects include Leonard Miller of the G League Ignite, Pepperdine’s Maxwell Lewis, Dayton’s DaRon Holmes II, Kentucky’s Chris Livingston, Baylor’s Adam Flagler and Kihei Clark of Virginia. The Lakers have the 18th pick, one pick ahead of the Heat.

Last Friday, Golden State Warriors with the 20th pick worked out Julian Strawther from Gonzaga, Coleman Hawkins from Illinois, Trayce Jackson-Davis from Indiana, Kendric Davis from Memphis, Craig Porter Jr. from Wichita State, and Caleb Daniels from Villanova.

I feel like any player we pick can be coached up to be a difference maker. As long as theyre high IQ and defensively oriented, we can win with them.

Offensive games and mindsets can be molded, defense can’t. You either got that mentality in you or you don’t, it’s a lifelong mentality you’re not going to pick up this far along except on rare occasion. Wiggins comes to mind

That's one reason I'm valuing the draft more then ever.

This run makes we wonder if trading Herro for a lottery pick might be the smart play here.

Draft a great athlete that can shoot and level him up slowly to become a legit 2 way player.

Any examples of this working?

Offensive players have a mentality that can't be taught. You can get 3&D athletes in the 2nd round every year.
