Ya I'm still scratching my head at that choice. I know it's the state bird or some chit like that but it doesn't even sound good let alone make any sense for a sports team.

The state bird is the Brown Pelican, the smallest of all Pelicans.

I think the Raptors should rename their team the Toronto Canadian Geese, would make about as much sense

Their keeping him fresh and injury free for that trade. They are making sure he is passing whatever physical gets thrown his way. A team like the Mavs and Clippers would need him to come in swinging and playing from day one.
